"The proprietor let us in very early in the morning. Fed us breakfast and checked us into our room by 7:30 AM (the ferry comes at 5:30 AM). He drove us around the island and arranged for our rental car. The dinner he served was absolutely amazing!"

"My spouse and I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Izukyu! I'm already planning to come back later in the summer. My Japanese is limited so we really appreciated the staff doing their best to explain policies in English. We stayed in a Japanese style room, it was huge and had everything we needed and more - and the view of the ocean was fantastic! We also took advantage of the private onsen, highly recommend. "The washlet bidet was not working. No change of room because of this issue. It is 15 minutes far which is hard to travel in Summer especially august. But otherwise, the stay and the people were pleasant. I loved the 温泉! "

"Fantastic hotel with great amenities. We had a sea view room and I think almost all rooms have that. We enjoyed the Onsen that had everything one needs including small sauna. The complementary soft drinks in the cosy lobby was a nice gesture and appreciated. Staff were very helpful and accommodating our requests and questions. Our 11year old daughter found plenty entertainment, we all loved the skin care fish for example. Keen to go back. Also Shimoda is beautiful, lots to do, i.e. beautiful...

"Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "
