"Its a beautiful place kitchen is good but extremly high prices for guatemalan standards with a michelin star so for a sushi roll nearly Q 500 is a bit extrem."

"This is a great location for visiting the castle and right by the water. It has a restaurant and pool and a boat dock. It offers parking as well. If you are not about going up stairs make sure to request the first floor at time of booking due to the fact that most of these hotels do not have elevators. Rooms are small and compact, shower is a good size, and parking is included and guarded."

"Gonzalo was kind and helpful. Beautiful views. Heads up: Google maps chooses the shortest route which takes you though an narrow alley way and up an unpaved hill which is not recommended. Make sure to go around what seems to be the back way, but it actually takes you to the front entrance. The name Casa Escondida (Hidden House) is perfect for this place."

"Lugar incómodo e incomunicado. La empresa no colabora con el cliente no advierte que el camino es una brecha de terracería. El sitio no hay señalamiento que indique el hotel o cabaña. Es un azar que algún vecino se apiade de los que viajan y ofrezca ayuda personal. Incluso tuve un percance que fue solventado por los vecinos. La propietaria jamás dio la cara. Lamentable."

"What a brilliant location, shame the 'honeymoon suite' didn't live up to expectations. Four beds in room, black mould in shower tray, yuck, generally poor condition. Don't get me wrong, eco fantastic but seen much better eco accommodation. Food was excellent, loved meeting people, kayaking, swimming etc and room did have an amazing balcony to watch river/jungle life. Stayed 2 nights & irritated could only pay by cash!!!! Lots young people struggling with this too! Policy hotel.com??? "

"My visit started badly because they had no record of my booking. Only after I showed them my confirmed booking did the receptionist stop trying to make me pay for one of their two remaining expensive rooms and referred to a superior. The place is expensive for its condition, by Guatemalan standards, but OK if you tell yourself you are supporting orphans. (The place is run by an outfit supporting orphans.) "This hotel is very close to Rio Dulce. Very nice pool with a small restaurant. The employees are very nice and helpful. The rooms need updating. Decor and tv were very old. If you are just driving through and need a place to relax outside and just sleep, this is the place. If you are looking for modest to luxury stay and amenities, this is not it. Overall, this place is an ok place."
