"Great hotel"

"This is truly a lovely hotel, with a great pool and beach front. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and grounds are very well maintained. Entrance feels grand and welcome us very warm. Great kids club. Would definitely return if I had the opportunity. Only minus I experienced was the upselling (day trips, spa treatments) during breakfast. While this may work well with some of the clientele, I found this quite annoying."

"We were disappointed on arrival at the hotel insects in room and broken electric socket broken and very limited choice of food. Spoke to the assistant manager who was extremely apologetic and arranged to change us to an upgraded room and for us to eat at their sister hotel next door. Staff in this restaurant were very attentive and the food quality and choice were amazing"

"A beautiful property especially if you take the Villas, the beach is public but it was the best beach for our young children to swim in. The food provided at the public beach is some of the best we had. "

"Overall very nice ocean front facility, rooms are clean, older but comfortable. AC works well. Staff though not very well trained are trying their best to be helful. Food is good, lots of chices and close to authentic. Difficulty road to get to the hotel, then this is normal for Sri Lankan hotel outside of Colombo. "

"It’s a convenient distance from unawatuna beach and Galle fort. If you’re only down south for a weekend, or for your first time I highly recommend. Excellent service, great breakfast, calm and pleasant private beach. Beautiful sunsets. "

"We stayed here on our honeymoon, and was expecting a little more hospitality to be honest couldn't even get a free drink out of them 😅. They do hound you a little in the mornings for room service so don't expect a lay in at this place! The food was really good, bar slightly over priced so all inclusive would be worth it if you intend to spend most of your time at the hotel. "We were welcomed with big smiles and fresh complimentary juices. Our room was upgraded without additional fees. Good variety of breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Mendis & Sudish who work at Breeze Restaurant. The hotel and surroundings are very neat, also easy access to the beach. Near to seafood restaurants. Excellent service throughout the stay. Totally recommend!"

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "

The many number of Staffs working at the beach restaurant more attentive - many stray cats around during meal time....which were a little "disruptive".... "Very relaxing stay next to the lagoon but also an easy walk to the beach. Only one restaurant was open aged that was on the beach so a bit of a trek when it rained. My room looked out on to a corridor which wasn’t ideal and the sealant around bathroom fittings was black with mildew. But largely these are minor details to a comfortable and relaxing stay at a fair price."

"We came here straight from a long flight from the UK and had 3 nights with our 3 children age 6, 8 and 11... And it was incredible! I wish we could have stayed here longer and as soon as we were there, we stated to think about when we could come back! There was so much space in the villa, the kids loved the pool, the beach was epic and so quiet.... And the care and attention of he staff, chef and security is on another level!
