Relax in style at this luxurious seaside town where you can enjoy a long golden beach and a selection of boutique clothing stores.

Lie on the sand at Meloneras Beach or enjoy a swim in the crystal clear ocean. Explore the shopping centers and browse for handmade jewelry or indulge yourself with a delicious cocktail while gazing at the glorious coastal views.

Close to the lively resorts of Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas, the town of Meloneras has a more sophisticated and tranquil aura than its busy neighbors. Instead of noisy arcades and music clubs, find an assortment of restaurants and cocktail bars along the quiet stretch of sand.

Head to Meloneras Beach to sunbathe and admire the stunning coastal scenery that surrounds you. The peace and quiet here makes it a great place to doze in the shade or catch up on vacation reading. Many of the hotels that reach onto the sand have lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent so you can escape the midday sun if you need to. After a morning of sunbathing, dip your feet in the water or go for a swim around the gentle bay.

If you would rather stay dry, visit the bars that sit just a few yards from the water. Relax here with a cold midday beer and return in the evening for a cocktail and excellent live music. Many of the bars serve snacks and light meals such as freshly cooked fish.

For some time away from the beach, go to Lopesan Boulevard el Faro shopping center. This is one of the most extensive retail hubs on the island and is home to a huge range of designer labels. Purchase clothes from your favorite brands or visit small boutique stores that sell handmade jewelry and garments.

As the sun sets, have something to eat at one of the waterfront restaurants in town. Enjoy tapas and fresh seafood or choose from a selection of delicious international menus.

Meloneras is on the south coast of Gran Canaria. Regular bus services connect with nearby resorts and towns. Drive from Las Palmas in about 45 minutes.
