A gem that brings back old school travel. Everything was perfect, unique and quite lovely. A quiet, beautifully landscaped, and a perfect place to relax and regroup.

Hotel was nice and room was spacious and clean, we noticed that the bar area was quiet and no one in the restaurant, mybe they could do some offers on food to entice customers in also if it had some entertainment in the bar we might have stayed in, only gripe I have is having to pay for parking in a hotel that should be free,

The hotel was super as usual. The menu in the restaurant however was limited. I would have liked to see a cold option in this heat wave. I did have to phone down to reception at 01:30 due to a party going on in a room next door. It was however dealt with swiftly and this was outwith the hotels control. Room was clean, good selection of tea's in the room with nice biscuits and hot chocolate too. Staff were professional and helpful.

I went out to my car to get my laptop took key out of the electric fitting when I tried to get back into the building it did not work . Walked up to reception. They asked for ID which I could not provide as all in my car . What a nightmare as they would not give me a new key card for around 1 hour ! What a joke

Lovely stay, minimal contact with the team but that’s because there didn’t need to be. Those we had contact with were lovely. Pool was great it was a heatwave when we stayed so the cool pool was fantastic to refresh.

Zoltan the concierge was fantastic and really went the extra mile

Loved the location, close to grocery store, restaurants, train/tram & bus station. It’s a very busy area with traffic & people walking about, but that noise is barely noticeable inside. The flat was well appointed and comfortable, with a small kitchen & all you’d need to cook a meal. The bathroom had shelf space above the vanity, which is one reason I chose this flat. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was in the back, making for a nice quiet nights sleep. The only issue we had (as foreigners) was the combination w/d really needs to have directions posted near it. The directions received in an email seemed to be for a different unit, so we struggled with how to use the appliance. Other than that, we loved the old building and the walkability of the neighborhood and its proximity to the Edinburgh Castle & Royal mile. We would definitely recommend The Distillers House to anyone we know who might visit in the future.

Location was great for sightseeing. It was a little loud on Friday night from the bar next door.

Excellent facilities and location. The nightly rate was extremely high. That is the only complain
