California Desert Kid friendly Vacations

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First, it was very hard to find the location because there is construction outside. When I finally found the place, there was one person at the desk who was extremely rude and condescending. She made fun of the way I spoke (mimicked me). I was in shock. I had already prepaid for the hotel so I didn't know what to do. I figured I would let it go since it's one night. I asked about parking - she said can't give me parking until I checked in. So I checked in and then after I paid for parking - she said she didn't have anymore key cards to the parking garage. She told me that every time I would need to go in or out of the garage I would need to come into the hotel and tell them and they would meet me at the garage (!) I asked politely how does this work if there's only one person at the desk. and where do I park to call you to help me with the garage (since there's no parking - only construction - outside the hotel). That set her off in an angry tirade. I was afraid for my safety at this hotel with this person in charge. I called my friend that I was meeting - she came over a few minutes later and I told her what happened. We checked the room - which had an intense chemical odor - can't breath. She refused to let me talk to a manager and refused to refund. It was such a twilight zone experience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRID PLACE.

The “California Buffet” breakfast was amazing. Kinda makes up for the less than wonderful amenities.

Excellent all round

We absolutely loved our stay at the Portofino Hotel & Marina in Redondo Beach! From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and welcomed. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the complimentary breakfast for two every morning at Baleen Restaurant. The food was delicious, and enjoying breakfast by the marina was such a wonderful way to start each day. Our room had a balcony with an incredible view of the ocean, and watching the beautiful sunset from there each evening was unforgettable. It was peaceful, relaxing, and one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel’s location is perfect. The boardwalk is just a short walk away, and there’s a fun family-friendly water park nearby. We also enjoyed exploring the marina and trying several of the fresh seafood restaurants within walking distance. The only downside was that the hotel only has one elevator, and it takes forever to open, which could be a little frustrating at times. If you’re looking for a relaxing waterfront getaway with beautiful views, great dining, and plenty to do nearby, we highly recommend the Portofino Hotel & Marina. We can’t wait to come back!

Very quaint and well maintained hotel right at Venice Beach! All of the staff was courteous, helpful, and friendly. My new, go-to hotel in Venice.

My room was clean but my floor was squeaky. My bed had throw pillows on it that didn’t look so clean and new, but other than that, it was a pretty good experience.

The staff was rude

The only minus that was an issue and was discussed with others staying is the very loud air conditioners. Not sure if an updated system is allowed or not but definitely needed.

It was beautiful, very clean and very quiet. The staff was amazing. I will definitely come back.
