Parking was difficult with automation. Difficult getting out. Need a gate person. Gate automated bar almost hit my hood. Valets were on their phones not helpful. Would consider not staying thete until they fix it. A five star hotel needs 5 star personnel. Not more automation

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Riu! The location is perfect & the breakfast was amazing!!

Good for short stay.

Only issue we had was to get tour bus at 545 am, no place was open for coffee. Complimentary coffee before cafe opens would be great

Everything went smooth. All staff are polite and helpful, customer service is top notch. Valet was great, I have a large truck so leaving it there was great, no issue with size. The room itself was clean, great view of the city and pier. Couldn’t have asked for more. Will be returning soon.

The building itself is truly impressive, with a sense of history and grandeur that makes a strong first impression. The location is also excellent, very convenient for exploring San Francisco. That said, some areas of the hotel feel dated. The hallways in particular look old and have a harsh white lighting that feels more like a hospital than a luxury property. The rooms have high ceilings and a good size, which is a plus, but the bathrooms are relatively small. The white lighting in the rooms also creates a very cold ambiance, which takes away from the overall comfort. In general, much of the furniture throughout the hotel could benefit from a renovation. Overall, it’s a beautiful historic property in a great location. With some thoughtful modernization that respects and blends with the hotel’s classic character, it could truly be exceptional.
