Isla Contoy Waterpark Vacations

The view was great, got a free upgrade. Room was clean.

We have stayed at several all inclusive resorts in the Cancun area. We are a family with elementary aged kids that like activities. We were excited to visit Ava. We loved the room. It was kept very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food at every restaurant was good and the drinks were also very good. The staff was attentive and fairly quick, everywhere.We also liked the unique activities, like “minute to win it” at digit bar, water aerobics, the obstacle course in the main pool, and many others. We were disappointed that we had to pay extra for some of the activities, like bowling, the arcade and laser tag but we tried them and we really enjoyed them. The biggest disappointment was for our girls because the kids club was not what we were expecting. The schedule was not flexible and had the kids outside all morning. It seems fine, but did not allow a break from the sun for the kids. They were not permitted to choose activities like past resorts. You either did what was on the schedule or not. Their trampolines were broken during our entire 6 day stay. And there were no toys to play with, just the indoor playground. They did enjoy the art class each day. But that was for one hour and we had to wake up early to sign up for it. The hardest part for parents is the 2 hour “family hour” everyday. It is supposed to be a time for families to come in and play with their kids. But in reality, no one wants to sit and watch their kids play at a kids club. It was empty.

Staff is very friendly and nice. We paid for an upgrade of our room and had partial view of the resort and ocean. The room after renovations is so much nicer. Food was okay, I was a bit disappointed as the sushi bar from when I visited years ago is not operating until 3am as before. But overall it was okay.

Beach front from any floor . Everything was absolutely amazing. Food was awesome. Activities were fun . Never a dull moment. I could do without the big tub on the balcony taking up 1/2 of the balcony space. Never used it as ur neighbor could lean over and look at you .

We didn't spend any time and the general pool area, but our private swim up pool was awesome.

The pool was enjoyable and i had a great experience on my first trip to Cancun loved the hotel!

Very big property, have to to take golf cards everywhere, easy to get lost. A lot of activities for kids, which we really really liked! Water slides, water playground, 2 arcades.For bowling you can use your hotel point or you have to pay extra, but still great option to have. Food was good. All the pools were closed at 6 PM except one, it was closed at 8 PM. The sales people over the top thought, I don’t think it’s appropriate to have that much pressure when people come to the vacation should be optional. Terrible beach, water is brown and a lot of seaweed, there is no cabanas on the beach no food service or bar, people don’t go there at all. We saw some coaties and raccoons on that property, which kids loved. Overall good experience..

This is our second time at a majestic property. Both experiences were outstanding. By booking thru expedia we some how managed to get a specIal concierge at the property. Kristel was very helpful in many way and made the experIence that much better
