The property is conveniently located. The rooms are comfortable and well stocked. Very nice kitchen and living area. The bathroom is spacious. There is generous closet storage. However, parking is a nightmare since the property uses a contract service for valet services. My family had a total of three cars and each car was treated differently. My ar was the last to leave and my husband and I waited 30 minutes to get our vehicle even though it was listed as number 1 in the queue. Public parking may be difficult to find if there is an event downtown. Additionally, the street noice in the evening includes loud mufflers and loud music coming from the vehicles. Each room is equipped with a sound machine which helps with sleeping but it does nothing if you are trying to have a conversation or watch TV. Staff was friendly and helpful if you don't include valet services.

Cocktails and bar menu good but our experience at the restaurant was disappointing. Food mediocre and expensive, understaffed and zero ambiance. Will stay again but have meals offsite in future. Pool was good but zero service up there and ran out of towels constantly.

I enjoyed my stay at the Kimpton hotel. The staff has excellent customer service, from the check in staff, to the valet workers. The food in Dean's Steak and Seafood restaurant was absolutely delicious, from breakfast to dinner. I recommend making reservations especially on the weekends. The only thing I missed was having a microwave in the room. Also the pictures of the rooms on the website, make the rooms look bigger than they are. The bed was very comfortable. The cleaning staff was excellent. I highly recommend the Kimpton hotel. I will definitely stay there in the future. It's in a central location downtown San Antonio.

The staff varies depending on the shift. Out of the four shifts we rated through, only 1 was extremely personable and helpful. If you book a room with amenities, just know that you will have to request every single one that is not in your room when you get there. We booked a room that said it accommodated 3 people with a fold out bed only to be told that the fold out bed could not be put in our room because of space issues. The bar at the pool is likely only manned during peak hours as we did not see anyone there when we went. The room had power fluctuations with the light dimming to feed power to the hvac system which only worked half the time. The maids were incredibly good at their jobs and our room was spotless our entire vacation. The drivers were also amazing and took us wherever we wanted to go(within 3 miles). The views were also amazing. There was some loose tile by the pool though and some missing that should have been addressed. Many “extra” services like the mini bar and the shower robes were priced out of reach and force one to seek them outside the hotel if you want them. The same could be said about the rooftop bar as there are better places to eat in San Antonio for far cheaper. This hotel is NOT a 5 star hotel as stated. It’s more like 3 1/2 - 4. Keep that in mind when you consider purchasing accommodation.
