Room smelled strongly of a strange chemical floral smell. Had to keep the window open to try and air it out. No food available nearby. There is a mall within a short walk that offers a Greg’s and a McDonald’s. The hotel is not 4 stars. It is a bit rundown. The staff are nice and try to be helpful.

Left my iPad and the very helpful staff found and returned it to me when I returned.

A friendly and clean hotel however not that good for a disability challenged person. There is no lift and no ramp. The stairs inside are narrow and winding with a small handrail especially to the basement where breakfast is served. Breakfast was not included but at £12 for a continental breakfast was worth it given the amount of choice. The room we stayed in was called Highgate on the first floor ( not good with heavy cases) but it was a reasonably good size and comfortable bed.The bathroom had a small sink and toilet with walk in shower. There were no hand grips in the shower and the flooring was slippery. A towel rail was also in there turned on constantly which was good as the radiator wasn’t working.The bedroom was cold with a draft coming from a window with shutters tha didn’t fully close and inadequate curtains. Basic tv and limited hanging space. Lighting was limited to two bedside tables and a central light above the bed but no light near to the doorway. There was a small fridge but also chargeable dinks and snacks. Best way into Edinburgh Centre is to turn right out of the hotel and walk to the crossing, then cross the road and walk to the right to the bus stop, about 25 metres stop called Newington road and most of the busses go into town as it’s 5/6 stops and a straight road so you could walk it.

Really beautiful property that’s ideally located. The rooms were huge and spotless. All the staff were very welcoming and considerate. Would definitely come back.

This hotel was very conveniently located to the Royal Mile and was easy to get to from the airport via the Tram. The front desk employees were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. The kitchen was fully stocked (even if we never cooked!) The area has numerous places to eat. Would definitely recommend.

Il est très bien situé pour se rendre à pied dans les principaux points d'intérêt d'Edimbourg. L'hôtel en général est bien, le déjeuner varié, on s'est même fait servir en français. Tout le personnel est vraiment gentil. Cependant, notre chambre situé en bas n'était pas super propre, je parle ici des murs et moulures car la literie, elle, était impeccable. Il y avait une odeur de moisissure et heureusement que la température était clémente, on a pu garder la fenêtre ouverte. Peut-être que les chambre à l'étage sont tout autrement mais ne demandez pas les chambres d'en bas.
