Room floors could use new flooring (perhaps wood or vinyl flooring instead of worn out dirty carpets. Also found some burnt matches and table with cigarette burns on the balcony. Otherwise, everything is excellent. Will definitely stay here again on the next visit to San Diego.

The hotel is one of the last Grand Dames in San Diego that still attempts to evoke some nostalgia. She comes with some historical decor and amenities and you should expect that, but the location and overall were wonderful and the bar food and beverages were outstanding and not as expensive as I would have expected. I would stay here again - even with the high priced valet parking!
