Cairns plaza hotelnis a 3 star hotel but I wi rate as 4 star definately. Very clean, stuff is friendly. Thannks to Lyv, the receptionist, she has been amazing and very helpful! Makes guests really feel welcome:) one negative thing onky are the matresses are very uncomfortable. But if needed I will definately come back to Cairns Plaza hotel again.

Great location clean tidy room and helpful staff

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The pool, barely used by anyone else at the resort, was right outside our room and we used it every day. The water was warm and clean. We even used the outside BBQ to cook a meal. We learned how to use to local bus which was great for getting around to activities. Only negative was spotty internet. We brought that to staffs attention but little changed during our stay. The surrounding area and beaches were fabulous. Great walking trails and clean public spaces.

Everything is good about the hotel but the location is not very convenient. It takes about 30 minutes walk to the reef boat ports and 20 minutes to the downtown.

The room was comfortable and had a good view over the city. The property itself is aging and requires some maintenance. For example, the toilet seat was not properly fastened and nearly came off. Arriving was tricky. The owners close the front desk sbout 6 p.m., and since my transportation to Cairns arrived about that time, I had to make arrangements with management. That proved difficult without an Australian phone number, so I had to quickly get an eSIM. Fiinal arrangements were made, but turned out to be incorrect. Fortunately, I arrived Ameities expected at most hotels were not included in the apartment: no bathroom soap, shampoo, or conditioner (fortimate;y I had some of my own). In sum, this property is managed more as an apartment complex than as a hotel, though it is very convenient to downtown, especially the train station. That's what formed my choice, and I did enjoy downtown Cairns, though it seemed a little sleepy in the evening.

We stayed in Morris #517. This is an excellent well appointed, clean and remodeled unit. Some of the common areas have not been as well maintained, and a number of areas are currently being worked on. This is a mix of long term rentals, residents and short term holiday units. The local by the Cultural district is unparalleled in Cairns and makes this a great choice for active folks. the airplanes do land/take off nearby, so if that would be a bother to you please be sure to consider. For us, no worries.
