South Shore Mountain Vacations

Downtown LA Proper was such a beautiful, unique hotel. The lobby, restaurants, and rooftop are all just as awe inspiring as they look in pictures. Our room was on the smaller side but laid out well, clean, and beautiful. There isn't much to do in teh immediately surrounding neighborhood, so plan to walk several blocks and/or be in a car to get where you're going.

Excellent location right on Venice Beach. But there is a rooftop bar on the property. We stayed on the sixth floor and the music from the bar was so loud it literally shook the room from 5pm until closing. Maybe it won’t be as noticeable on a lower floor but the top floor was unbearable.

Perfect classy retreat

It was a really nice place. We had to pay for parking which is common for most stays in Cali but $32 is a bit much. Plus they added a bunch of fees for the property when we only planned to stay overnight. We didn’t realize til after we checked out and received our receipt. If you park on property, you’ll have to take an elevator and wrap around to even get to the check in desk which was hard to find when we first arrived. They definitely need to have an actual sign on the door that says entry to lobby or something. All the doors we passed looked the same. The receptionists were okay. When we first arrived the person helping us was on the phone with another guest while trying to check us in at the same time. They should have more staff to help.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Enjoyed the excellent breakfast (at times the line can seem long) the outdoor fire stations (HH drinks), the close walk to the water and Fisherman's Wharf, quiet room. Would stay here again, wished we could have gotten adjoining rooms.

I am very disappointed with the hotel’s handling of my security deposit. The deposit has still not been returned, and I am currently trying to resolve the issue with the hotel. Unfortunately, I have not received any response for more than 24 hours. What is most frustrating is that I have been trying to resolve this matter for almost a week. The hotel previously confirmed that the $150 deposit had been released from their side, but the money has still not been returned to my account, and now they are no longer responding to my messages. I really hope this is simply a mistake and that the situation will be resolved soon. However, after almost a week of waiting and poor communication, I cannot say that I am satisfied with the service. I expect the hotel to resolve this matter and return my deposit as soon as possible.
