Just returned from our 5th stay at Moon Palace, and it continues to be one of our favorite family vacation spots. The staff, food, amenities, and overall atmosphere keep us coming back year after year. We always leave with great memories and can’t wait for our next visit.

By not having cars or trucks on the property, it was very peaceful and quiet. The "inside out" design of the resort with its white adobe brick walls, the mangrove forest, and the lush vegetation everywhere made me feel that I was surrounded by the natural world of this former presidential retreat. The spa was by far the best spa I have ever been to, and I'm 78 years old, so I've been to many over the years. Starting with the hydrotherapy treatment was pure relaxation, and the Mayan massage was heavenly. My daughter and I spent 5 hours that afternoon immersed in a complete body treatment. The breakfast buffet was extraordinary in its selections from fresh fruits to personalized omelets to Mexican specialities.

We had a very enjoyable stay overall and were satisfied with most aspects of the resort. The property was beautiful, the atmosphere was relaxing, and most staff members were friendly and helpful.If you're looking for a relaxing environment, quiet, gentle, adults-only hotel, I think you shouldn't hesitate. One thing we really appreciated was the housekeeping service. The room was cleaned very frequently and efficiently — it almost felt like the staff were ready to clean as soon as we left the room, which made the stay feel very comfortable and well taken care of. The food was also fresh, with a good variety of options across the restaurants and buffet. The overall dining experience was very pleasant. The only thing to note is that the resort building itself is not very large, so for a longer vacation, especially more than 10 days, it might feel that there are not quite as many facilities to explore. The only small issue we experienced was that a few staff members in some dining areas had very limited English, which made communication a bit difficult at times. For example, at the buffet, some items needed to be ordered directly, but the ordering process was not very clear and sometimes relied mostly on gestures. The order sequence also felt a little disorganized, with no clear first-come, first-served process. That said, this was only a minor and occasional issue and did not affect our overall enjoyment of the trip. We still had a great time and would consider coming back.

We had a wonderful stay with our family (w/ young kids!). Facilities were beautiful and clean! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The highlight of our stay was our concierge, Fernanda, she was absolutely amazing and so helpful. She made our stay feel effortless and was so on top of things which made a big impact on our experience. She was in regular communication and easy to connect with, let us know of resort happenings daily, made all of our dinner reservations ahead of time, reserved us cabanas, set up a special welcome and later a birthday delivery for my husband, took care of everything related to our lagoon sunset cruise, and made sure we were taken care of completely from beginning to end. Our overall experience would not compare without her! She was so easy to communicate with and we saw her daily around the hotel. THANK YOU Fernanda, you're the best! Some opportunity for growth in the resort: not all of our friends had the same experience. Some of us were given welcome drinks upon arrival, others were not. Our concierge was fantastic, but our friends had the opposite experience and no service from their concierge. Some of us were given a coupon booklet for things around the resort, and others were not. Would be nice for consistent experience for all. The food could also be elevated. We tried most of the restaurants and buffet and it was okay but nothing too great, seems like a lot of the same basic food. We also wished we could take stuff to go and eat @ the pool
