The breakfast was great and worth the extra cost. Might want another hotel if you like hot water for your shower. No hot water in the first room. Second room had hot water that night but cold the next morning.

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay here, the staff were without exception friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant, food was lovely, however I thought a little pricey. Breakfast was excellent and included. Trip to airport is approx $40 dollars but feel it was worth staying a bit further away from airport to be in such lovely surroundings. Highly recommended.

Location is great and central but with a laid back vibe on the grounds.

Barcelo San Jose hotel is impecable in every respect- cleanliness, service etc. It has 3 restaurants to choose from: Japanese, all you can eat buffet, and another one with table sevice. I chose the bufet and the food was great. People are very friendly, kind and ready to help. Its all-around 5 star rating! You don't see many of those nowadays:)
