Clean but dates hotel. Great location They host university graduations the whole month of July so the property is bush and chaotic

Always my go to hotel when I Manchester. Looking forward to staying again.

Me and my partners family stayed here for pre-graduation. The rooms are very compact, cosy and clean and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is also in a great location. We did however find a couple problems with the rooms. In one room the air-con wasn’t working which made it a very hot a sweaty evening/morning in an already stressful time getting ready for a graduation. In the other room we couldn’t get the lighting to work properly. The bar area was probably by biggest negative. Ordered 2 beers which both tasted like washing up liquid, the bar staff were struggling to pour a pint and had several attempts at such.

The room was really comfy and spotless and we had a lovely welcome by the staff member, Archie. The location is also perfect for exploring Manchester and is easy walking distance to the northern quarter for so many great bars and restaurants. You only get 4 small nespresso coffee pods and have to pay for more if you want them so next time I’d bring some of our own. Turtle Bay, a couple of minutes away from the hotel does a really good breakfast and cocktails!

Great place to stay in the centre of Manchester. Staff are very attentive without being too much. Rooftop bar is the place for cocktails.

the incredible individually decorated rooms are the standout feature to me along with comfy beds, nice staff and cool custom soaps in the bathroom. Worth the price.

Bizarre room set-up, no kettle. The decor is a kind of pre-finished industrial aesthetic. The bathroom is a box within the room. The bed was pretty hard. The staff were helpful. The bar is good. The location was good

Not hot water and pitiful shower. There is a sign in the bathroom saying that the building is over 200 years old and it takes a while for hot water to arrive, but the fact that I ran the bathroom tap for an hour with nothing at all proves this a lie. The shower works by a push button that turns itself off after about two minutes and nothing but a trickle of cold water came out even though I pushed it a dozen times, no pressure. When I complained to the lady on the desk she made it clear that this was normal, and that I was welcome to use the communal showers on the top floor, which is not an ideal solution, I didn't pay hostel rates, but something is better than nothing. On investigating the top floor I found two unisex bathrooms, both were occupied, so I had to go out without a shower. When I returned that night, I again went to investigate the communal showers, only to find they were both occupied again. Eventually at 2am I found them both empty, they turned out to be toilet / electric showers, the one shower was entirely broken, same as in my room, no pressure at all, just a trickle of cold water, the other shower had pressure, but could only deliver scalding water or freezing water and the bracket on the shower riser was broken so it wouldn't stay. Its absolutely unacceptable for a room sold as en-suite to not have proper washing facilities available anywhere, it really ruined my weekend. The view was good, but the hotel had no character and substandard facilities
