Unfortunately the refurbishing of the property while staying there was not what we expected. The noise, dust and construction was less than desirable. When we entered our room upon check in, there was a ladder, vent cover off and hardware on dresser. Was moved to another floor and the construction noise was even worse. Although it only lasted till 3‐ 3;30, coming in from a long flight and time change, all I wanted was a two hour nap. Didn't happen. Early the next morning we were awaken by the fire alarm. After several announcements, it turned out to be a false alarm. Requested a ADA room, but due to construction all the ADA rooms were taken. None of the other rooms have grip bars. For seniors over 55, that is a must have. When you come in from the beach or pool and you have sun nlock on, when washing off, it becomes a slip hazard. Although the staff and location was ideal, I don't think we'll stay here again. There was no appeal to this dated establishment.

I had an okay stay overall. The location was AMAZING, which was definitely the highlight. However, when booking this hotel, I assumed we’d be able to swim in the ocean directly next to the property. Unfortunately, the water was extremely shallow with rocks everywhere, and we only lasted about 20 minutes before walking nearly half a mile down the beach just to find a swimmable area. Another issue was the room temperature. I normally keep my room around 69–70 degrees, but our room wouldn’t go below 73. I called the front desk and maintenance came up, but they said everything was working properly and there was nothing they could do to make it cooler. Overall, the stay wasn’t terrible, but there were definitely a few disappointing aspects that affected our comfort and expectations.

This property was wonderful. It was in a perfect location. You could walk to just about anything you could want. The beach was right across the street. Your resort fee allowed for you to take beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards for the beach each day. Additionally, there were fun classes and craft making you could take part in. The housekeeping staff was very attentive. The help desk people were lovely and so helpful. The lobby was expansive, airy, and beautiful for sitting in. Oh and the ADULT POOL! Let me tell you, you won’t know how much you’ve always wanted one until you get to one. No kids being loud and splashing around. It was great! There was a separate family pool though if you are still in that stage of life or have someone else to watch the kiddos for a bit. The work out room was also well outfitted if you feel like getting some exercise in. The meal on Tuesday and Thursday night was delicious if you choose to participate. It was $45 per person, but it is all you can eat, so go hungry!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel. The location was amazing — everything was within walking distance, including the beach, restaurants, shopping, and attractions. It made getting around Waikiki super convenient without needing to drive everywhere. The staff was also very helpful and friendly throughout the stay, which made the experience even better. The only downside was the parking. Parking ranges from about $50–$75 per day depending on where you park, which was a little upsetting and definitely adds up during your trip. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel because of the great location, clean rooms, and helpful staff.
