"Made the reservation last minute due to my previously paid for property being infested with ants and overall as solo traveler I didn’t feel comfortable with the set up or location of my room. Element was exactly what I needed to ensure my stay in curaçao was all I hoped it would be. My only complaint is you can hear the club/ restaurant noise in your so clear as if you were there. Made it hard to sleep or relax."

The Kontiki

"The Kontiki is a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. The property is well-maintained with great on-site parking. The beach view is amazing being that you are right on Mambo beach with dozens of shops, restaurants, and activities to participate in. I stayed in the Tropical Superior room with my boyfriend and can say the room was great, but needs a little renovation. My only issue is housekeeping, we had to constantly worry about whether or not they would show up due to the lack of service on our first day. Keep in mind room service leaves at 4:30PM and once they do there is no clean up and you’ll have to wait till the next day. I would tell the front desk to inform the housekeepers and somehow the message wouldn’t be delivered unless I spoke to a housekeeper myself; that was the annoying part. Another issue we faced is the smell of the sewer system coming out of the drain/toilet. They “fixed” it, but it looks like they just cleaned the toilet and put some cleaner in — an otherwise temporary fix. Regardless, our trip was still amazing experience, phenomenal location, and friendly staff. I would come back in a couple of years to revisit again."

"Floor of our room needed a good clean-up. The room itself is modern and nice. Connecting doors, however, seem to make the rooms noisy. Front-office manager and staff were excellent, they are very attentive to all details. Breakfast buffet had minimum items, service personnel in restaurant lacked supervision. Property gives good overall impression in the general areas. The parking lot was full all the time, the parking garage seemed unsupervised."
