"It was missing many items to make it feel like the comforts of home. We really missed having a working ice maker. There was one in the freezer but it did not make ice. The glassware and coffee cups were very small. No throw blankets. Temperature was too warm or too cool- thermostat hard to control."

"The historical significance of this property is reason alone to visit. George Washington's great grandfather established a plantation there in 1642. While original buildings were burned, the owners have restored according to drawings and records. There's a cemetery on property with graves from 1600s. "We stayed from Friday to Monday. We did not have any service to the room. We asked a lady that was cleaning other rooms for more coffee and shampoo (empty container at the shower) amd she said it was not her room in her list. So, no towels, shampoo or coffee. Very disappointing. Other than that, it is a OK hotel."

"Great place to relax and enjoy a quiet setting which is still close to Yorktown and Williamsburg. Pet friendly with room to walk. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need and all appliances. Catesby was a wonderful host and always reachable by phone. Nice porch and outdoor fire pit which would have been used more except that it was August."
