"I was ready to give this privately owned property a great review because it checked so many boxes. It was conveniently located, the staff at check-in were friendly and easygoing, and our room was clean. After a long day of driving up Highway 1 from San Francisco, we were looking forward to a comfortable place to rest before exploring the Redwoods the next morning. Unfortunately, the experience took a disappointing turn when we discovered there was no hot water for our showers. After a full day on the road, a hot shower was something we had really been looking forward to, and starting the next morning with a cold shower wasn't exactly ideal. I'm hoping this was just a one-time issue, but it's something future guests may want to be aware of."
