Very nice rooms, warm and cosy. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff were wonderful. Hot tub was private and seperate spaces for bbq and out door fire. Solid built place in a very nice setting of trees and lush grass. Easy walking to the lake, parks and to the township.

Friendly hosts, Allan and Kaaleen. Nothing was too much problem. Welcomed like friends and family. Comfortable nights sleep and a decadent breakfast with fresh baked cheese scones!

Wonderful
Staying at Wanaka Homestead is like visiting old friends. Kaalene and Allan were so kind and thoughtful. We felt genuinely cared for, and could have easily stayed for weeks. Breakfast is delicious, with nice variety. The property is lovely with a rustic vibe, yet completely modern, spacious, and comfortable. Our room felt both posh and homey; the kind of place you could happily laze in all day if it weren’t so nice to be outside. The location is ideal: close to town but not right in the hustle and bustle. From there, we enjoyed walks to the lake and into town. In fact, we so loved being there that we got take-away and enjoyed meals out on the patio or lawn tables. We never quite made it to the jacuzzi under the stars. Next time! We left rested and happy, feeling like we’d made life-long friends. We can’t wait to go back.

A wonderful stay at the Wanaka Homestead: the place is one of a kind, all the comfort one can hope for and at the same time everything is eco friendly. The staff, all super women, are incredibly kind and efficient. What a success!

The property is in a perfect location, close to town but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The lodge is beautiful as is the park directly across the street which adjoins the lake.

Gorgeous cozy place with wonderful accommodating staff! We were a quick walk to the lake which was the perfect way to spend the morning. Within walking distance to great restaurants as well!

Ideal for family group
Lismore Cottage was ideal for 3 generation group, with excellent facilities. Suited our needs for Christmas break and management left a surprise bowl of cherries & chocolates. We booked a pre-Christmas meal at recommended nearby restaurant.

Fabulous room!
I stayed in the North room in the lodge and it was my favourite accommodation so far on this trip (and I have stayed in a total of 7 including 5 star in Wellington). The room (incl. bathroom) was spotless and felt like it had been recently refurbished. It had a lovely country cottage “loft” feel to it with windows looking straight into a beautiful willow tree. The bed was amazing comfortable and it had a smart tv so I could log into my own Netflix account. All the amenities were good quality including luxurious towels and bath robes. The staff were friendly and very helpful as well. It’s a little away from Wanaka Centre (maybe 15-20min walk?) but it has a gorgeous park next door leading onto the lake and it is lovely and quiet. I highly recommend this place.

Very comfortable rooms! Wonderful staff! Karen was an excellent hostess! Delicious breakfast! Free guest laundry facilitiy. Comfy guest lounge. Outdoor fireplace! Hot tub and gas grill available but we did not use them. Walking distance to Lake and Wanaka tree! Would definitely stay here again!

From start to finish our stay was perfect. A nice change up from a larger hotel. Very warm and attentive staff. The location cannot be beaten, a short stroll top the shores of Lake Wanaka. Perfect.

The best house in Wanaka
We like the house very much, it is close to Wanaka That Tree and the surrounding area are so pictureric. It also close to shopping. Will definitely come back.

A must stop for Wanaka
This place was exceptional in every aspect. A must stop location. Close to town and with lots of little extras including some exceptional home cooked muffins. Bikes available to ride and a great breakfast. Laundry facilities available foc. We will definitely return to this beautiful location.

Very nice building and beautiful room, but very firm mattress and pillows. Nice lounge to relax in. You can walk to town along the lake in about 25 minutes and a winery in about 30 minutes going the other direction.

Lovely lodge, great location
Great place to stay with a lovely breakfast. The room was large with a lovely garden to use. Just slightly out of the main town, only a 20 min walk along the lake which we enjoyed. Lots to do in wanaka and scenery is fantastic. Would absolutely recommend if you want a homely, friendly place, quiet , clean and in a great location.

We loved our stay in the North room, which felt really plush with a comfortable bed and the softest bathrobes ever. The hosts were fabulous, as was the breakfast in the morning (choice of cereals, fruit, and breads, as well as a cooked portion with eggs and meats); cookies, tea, and coffee were available throughout the day. (Note that people who stay in the cottage do not get breakfast.) The lake and famous tree are an easy walk through the park (literally), and it's a wonderful stroll into town. We took advantage of the free bike rentals and enjoyed a scenic ride up to Roy's Bay. We'd definitely stay here again!

Stayed here one night. Walked 45 minutes along the lake to the Rippon Vineyard on arrival and enjoyed a free wine tasting, and then sat and enjoyed the view with a bottle of wine. We also had a meal at the nearby restaurant (Sargoods), which was good but service was very slow. Other recommended restaurants in the town were all fully booked, and therefore recommend that other travellers book in advance.

When we checked in, the manager Claire was very friendly and helpful. Room was warm and cosy and bed was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were very clean. Lovely lounge area with fireplace that all guests can use and a laundry room. Breakfast was lovely with plenty to eat.
