"The hotel was fine, but not great. The pictures on the site felt like they were taken of a model room and definitely not the room we got. There was a target receipt in our window and the room smelled strongly of vanilla and slightly of weed, like someone was trying to mask the smell. My biggest complaint is that the bathroom door had been replaced with a "barn door" style door with an inch gap that let sounds and smells pass freely into the main room."

"Biggest issue was parking - pay too much for valet and I parked my own car even… since it is in front of the hotel. Menu was good but limited. I unfortunately stayed when they were industrial cleaning carpets. Pool was closed and staff couldn’t tell me if or when it would open. 3 stars"

"Property under major renovation and not once was it mentioned on line or anywhere else. Literally walked through power tools, tarps, construction workers to get to the elevator. Our room appeared to have been renovated already but smelled like bug spray. The refrigerator was warm. The coffee maker didn't have an accessible outlet to plug it in and the people who were sent to assist in resolving any of this did not speak English and were trying to translate on an app. We could still not understand what they were saying to us. Breakfast was the same thing 3 mornings in a row and there is no convenient place to dine fir other meals. I make 5-6 trips to Norfolk a year for the past 5 years and this was the absolute worst experience ever. Oh by the way, the pool doesn't exist so don't be fooled by the pretty picture on the website!"

"Having a Beachview was the only nice thing. I spent my vacation there after asking for a smoke room and was told we can smoke on the balcony by a staff member then to be told I couldn't. Then they never came to clean my room, after being there for 2 days ( which I was there for a total of 5 days) they never came to bring me clean towels and wash cloths. The employees at the breakfast were very mean and had bad attitudes. I should have asked for a full refund because my vacation was ruined with their experience."

"Stayed for a wrestling event wanting a hotel with an indoor pool. The whirlpool was closed and you might as well say the pool too. The pool was low of water, had two dehumidifiers with the drain lines running to the pool and not to a drain. The drain areas were all clogged with standing water and brown. Highly unsanitary. Entered room with a stale smell. Lightings in room very dim to deter the stained and highly worn furniture. The mattress was very hard with the flattest pillows. No bedding for the pull out sofa. The closet mirror door would not close as it was off track with cracked glass. Rather disappointing for the brand and amount paid. One of two elevators were down. Window seals dirty. Only positive from this stay, staff was friendly and courteous."
