"If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. "Hidden gem! We stayed in the Almond Suite for one night and had an incredible experience. The room and the entire property were so stylish, clean and photogenic. The views from the room at sunrise were worth waking up early for. Dinner and breakfast were both fantastic, and we really appreciated the personalization and the hospitality of the staff.
