That being said if you are in the older part of the hotel, getting your luggage around is a challenge as the elevator does not get you to all areas, HOWEVER there is always friendly staff to lend a hand. I was disappointed not to get a room in the new, deluxe part of the hotel. Not sure how I go about getting one. Overall I am pleased with my stay. I would say that service has improved over the years. Helpful, friendly staff"

"Berkey himself is a gracious, helpful, and thoughtful host. His communications are excellent and once there, he will be there for you. He attends to details and has pride in this hideaway. It requires a walk up ~40 steep steps but once on top, your are in a beautiful valley with wildlife and jungle sounds. Accommodations are basic but sufficient, if you are looking for an experience more like Dominica than a luxury hotel, Berkey's place is fine. Access to the property is straightforward and the location is ideal for short or all-day trips to the many local attractions. "

It has everything you need, is really well kept and clean, it has tons of personality and blends the outdoor and indoor worlds together in a very unique and practical way. To quote my 18yr old daughter- "How can we not cook dinner in when we have this kitchen to work in"Ginette our host was very welcoming and responsive."
