Nice little surprise in downtown Vernon. The common area is very large and accommodating and nicely decorated. One of the bedrooms is only large enough for a bed... more a bed-closet than a bedroom, but otherwise a really nice property.

Family Get Together

My brothers and sister got together for a weekend in the town where we grew up. Our downtown apartment was perfect for us. There was plenty of room and Amber made sure that we had everything we needed.

Easy Process!

We drove up to Vernon from Ft. Worth for the weekend. My fiance is from Vernon, and most of her family is still here. Her parents were renewing their wedding vows for their 50th. The plan was to stay overnight at a family member's house, but i think there was an accidental double booking lol. Well, long story short, we looking for a place to stay last minute! I was lucky enough to find a vacancy here and got it reserved for 4 adults and 2 teen girls. The owner, Amber, was very courteous and welcoming, and overall just very pleasant to do business with! The apartment was spotless, updated, and spacious! I would absolutely book another stay in the future!

The apartment was spacious, nicely decorated, and generally clean, but we did run into several issues that seemed related to the turnover between guests. There were dirty linens and a razor left in the primary shower, makeup powder on the vanity, dirty items left near the washer, a full kitchen trash can, dirty silverware in the sink, and evidence of mice in the kitchen drawers. We also could not find pot holders or kitchen towels.The primary bed was uncomfortable, as the fitted sheet continually came loose during the night. Communication from the host was minimal, and without check-in guidance we initially went to the wrong entrance and disturbed the downstairs guest by mistake.Our biggest concern was security and comfort. It was unclear whether door codes are changed between guests, and the upstairs area would benefit from an additional manual lock. The main issue for us, though, was the thermostat not allowing the A/C below 70, which made sleeping uncomfortable.The apartment was spacious and nicely decorated, but improvements in cleanliness, communication, comfort, and overall guest readiness would have made the stay much better.

Bad Experience

Host and I were in contact the week before our stay and knew we were excited for our stay. We got into town after traveling from South Carolina with no check in instructions. We contacted the host through VRBO messages and calling the contact number, we didn't get a response. Contacted VRBO and they couldn't get in touch with the host either. I totally understand things happen but it would've been nice to know so we could've made arrangement. Totally through a wrench in our plans and VRBO doesn't book same day stays.

I booked this via Expedia for my family to stay in for my wedding. Expedia listed the check-in for 3pm, after I booked, I saw the check-in change to 4pm. On the day of my reservation, I hadn’t heard anything from the host so I reached out just before 4, nothing. I emailed , called and messaged via the VRBO website. I started to panic because I had seen a review that someone’s reservation completely fell through. Almost a hour and a half later, I received a 6 digit code with no other info. When my family arrived the door was unlocked. The apartment was very clean and thoughtfully decorated. My family loved the apartment! Later that night my brother went out and couldn’t get in with the code provided so he had to wake my mother from bed to come downstairs to unlock the door. The next day after my wedding, they weren’t able to get in. We repeatedly entered the code provided and it wouldn’t take. I contacted the host and she kept trying to give me directions on how to input the code and nothing. Then she told me to use a key that was upstairs on the table to open the door. We were literally locked out, I was in my wedding dress trying to get my family back in. My brother found a single key on a table outside and tried it, it worked! After several messages exchanged and a great deal of frustration, she remembered that it didn’t take a code but rather a key. Luckily a stranger didn’t find the key and let themselves in. Great place, POOR COMMUNICATION!!

This was a nice place to stay but actually it was way more than we needed. We would have been fine staying in a hotel but the only two really nice hotels in town were priced way over their worth. We found this place which was basically a condo with three bedrooms, two baths and full appliances even including a washer and dryer. We really didn't need all of that for the two nights we were needing to stay but this cost us a good 150 less than the nice hotels. A perfect place to stay for a family.

Initial impression, good. But then...Twin bedroom had pubic hair and red stains on bed, and the pillow had an area pinched together with a sticky substance, so it couldn't be used. Later my daughter was barefoot around awhile and looked at her feet that were black with...? She cleaned her feet and put on socks and shoes. The pillowcases are uber thin in all rooms, felt gross, had to use our extra pillowcases. I always bring my pillow when traveling for that reason. The beds were too spongy soft. The bathrooms and kitchen were excellent and the AC was great. There were no paper towels so we had to buy that, paper plates and kleenex. Ice maker works, water tastes ok. It took over 24 hours to get the wifi password from the request sent via vrbo portal. We cleaned up after ourselves, stripped beds and got sheets and towels to the laundry room, took up trash. Good location, no traffic, felt safe. The cabinets have NO pulls or handles throughout the apt so it was awkward trying to use those doors, and we hung our fingernails and broke a couple just to try to open cabinets and drawers. I think it should be finished and cleaned better and it will be fine.

The place itself was great. However we received no check in information, no WiFi info, no check out information, and I was messaging the host with no answers. I had to call at close to Midnight to find the place and get the code for the door. I’m not sure why we never received the information for such a beautiful property.
