The place is very close to the station, making traveling easier because dragging luggages around through Venice’s stair bridges is no joke. The complimentary breakfast was good for the price and the staff was friendly. The room is a little old and doesn’t have AC though but other than that it was a good place.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and after a week split between Roma e Firenze, our stay here was the best and most luxurious yet. Close to the main train station but just steps away from the heart of Venezia. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was sumptuous and satisfying.

Love this place, the interior looks very luxurious. Super convenient coz its by the train station, shops, canal etc. Staff are amazing, gorgeous breakfast area, coffee made by their barista! Only thing is, do not open the window in your room coz mosquitoes could come in and you’ll end up with bites, now that goes for every hotel coz its surrounded by water obviously but other than that we had a lovely stay, we walked 20 mins to St Mark’s Basilica and hit every shop! I highly recommend!

Great hotel with convenient location

Very Nice hotel, conveniently located to transportation links at the top end of the Grand Canal. If you’re looking for a place away from the usual tourist haunts, this maybe the one for you.

Great Stay!

Great stay! Reasonable price for the staying in the island with complementary breakfast. Climbing over the bridge with a big luggage from the train station was challenging, but I was glad it’s only one bridge I needed to cross to get to the hotel.

The location is everything because you still get great canal views without the really busy tourist crowds like at Rialto. Pillows and bed were a little stiff but the rooms were super clean and very inviting. The hotel is lovely with all updated needs while still keeping the charm of Venice. Reception is 24 hours! Always someone at the desk. Comes with a great breakfast.

Wonderful Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gardena Hotel we had a second floor room overlooking the canal. It was remodeled and the bed was very comfortable. Receptionist at the front desk was pleasant and the breakfast was basic but very tasty. They stored our luggage until we were ready to catch the ferry and even gave me supplies to make name tags for by bags. Wonderful customer service and although it's a long walk to St Marks Square the location wasn't crowded and was beautiful.

The hotel is in a perfect location. Close to the train station (2 bridges, 5 minute walk). The hotel is on a smaller canal but very close to the grand canal. Our room was very quiet when we had the door closed (we had a balcony) but open, we enjoyed hearing the water and hustle and bustle of Venice. Breakfast was very good with many pastries, fruits, yogurts, meat and cheese offerings. There were dozens of restaurants nearby plus stores for picking up snacks and drinks. We would definitely stay again.

Nice little hotel in great area

Overall a great experience. The only gripe is that we could not control air in our room. It was a bit stuffy when we arrived, and they said we could not us AC until a later date. Later in spring I guess. We had to keep the windows propped open much of the time, even when sleeping. However, that didn’t keep us from enjoying our stay. The staff was very good.

The staff is great, location is very convenient, however, our room on the first floor was completely rundown and in unacceptable condition. Peeling and chipped bathroom tile and paint, stains on walls and floor, no shower curtain or glass to prevent water from soaking the floor. It was worse than anywhere I have ever encountered, not acceptable outside of a third world country. Renovated rooms on the second floor are very nice. I cannot recommend this hotel unless you are able to ensure that your room has been renovated.

On Point For It’s 3-Star Rating

It’s a 3-star hotel, please keep in mind this review is based on a 3-star hotel. The hotel is small cause space is limited in Venice, but the bathroom size is decent enough. The breakfast options are limited, but the American coffee is good. Every employee we interacted with was great. The A.C. was not turned on due to a city ordinance, so you had to open the windows to get fresh air. But the problem with this was that mosquitoes got in the room, leaving my husband and I with plenty of bites. The hotel could easily place screens on the windows, however we did not see a single window throughout the city with a screen. So maybe the city doesn’t allow screens? Hotels are expensive in Venice due to its small size, and we didn’t feel like breaking the bank for a hotel here since we still had a couple more cities to visit on our Italian trip. So for the price we paid the hotel was a fair deal. Bonus points for the hotel - we were allowed to leave our luggage after checking out at no extra cost, this was super helpful as we still had plans to explore the city on our last day there.
