As regards the lack of lift, we regret to inform you that our hotel is hosted in a historic XVI-century building, which features a particular space management defined by the traditional standards of the past; it is our pleasure and duty to preserve it and, unluckily, this does not allow us to adjust the space to our modern needs and, for instance, to install the lift. We inform you that due to structural reasons, it is not possible to install an elevator in our building which is too ancient and we would like to underline as well that the presence of a porter is not among the mandatory services of 3-star hotels. In any case, our staff is always willing to help clients in bringing their luggage up; moreover, guests who have problems in climbing stairs or with heavy luggage may require rooms on lower floor before the arrival. We suppose that you came on the day of the exceptional high tide which happened on October 29th and involved most part of the city. That was an exceptional event which happens perhaps every 10 years. Usually the high tide is an ordinary event happening sometimes in Venice during this period: most times you have only some centimetres of high water in San Marco, which is the lowest part of the city, but it is possible to walk in almost the most part of the city. However, the area where the hotel is located usually is not involved in this problem since it is higher respect to other parts of the city.
