Communication with Skykes Cottages was very process heavy tho - we received so many useless emails before the booking, then during the trip there was so many different people to talk to for every problem. "A wonderful 4 nights spent at Romden farm, couldnt have been bette. It was great, just to open the back door and walk for miles with the dogs, come back chill out and relax in the hot tub in the evenings. At the big pond we enjoyed feeding the fish and watching the barn owl hunt at dusk. The barn was clean, comfortable and the perfect place to get away from everything. The owners made us feel so welcome we will definitley be back in the future."

"A great place to stay for us as a stop over on the way to France via the tunnel (20 mins drive).Really comfortable beds, very clean, newly renovated, with a small sitting room and two beds with 2 bathrooms. Just what we were looking for and they let dogs stay. We usually stay in a Premier Inn but this was far better value, plus the pub downstairs was excellent. Good choice of beer, great food and perfect hospitality - what more could you ask for?? Fully recommended!"

"Generally our experience was good. Getting there was fairly easy. Check in went smooth, the view from room over the lake was beautifull.we slept well.Food was good, we had breakfast only.Waiting time for an English breakfast seemed bit long and portion size could be bit bigger.Staff was kind and friendly.We stayed there for 1 night only. My only complain is first impression when we entered our room there were big stains on a carpet, which made us uncomfortable and want to leave immediately.On the drain in shower there was still bit of hairs.Carpets in a hallway are worn off as well. Taken away cleanliness issue it is a good value for the money and a lovely set up over the lake."

"Very pleasant welcome. Room clean but wardrobe disappointing and smell in bathroom otherwise nice room. Enjoyed a beer in the garden at night! Great breakfast! Bit disappointing when checking out as waited 5 minutes and no staff appeared! As we didn’t need to settle any bill I just left the key on the counter."

"Very nice room, aircon worked extremely well, had to turn it down a bit despite staying over on one of the heatwave nights. Staff were excellent, and breakfast was nice as well. Only thing to mention was the lack of parking availability. Whilst I booked my parking spot well in advance, it was clear they filled up very quickly, and weren't enough spaces for guests. There were EV chargers as well, which were all working and easy to use, but once the car was charged, there was no space to move it to a regular parking spot, so the hotel staff told me to just leave it there overnight, blocking someone else from potentially using it - not ideal for a Hilton. Overall though, excellent, would definitely stay again."
