"I was so apprehensive about cave hotels—that they were dank, claustrophobic, dark. However, after a short flight flanked by two very long drives to and from airports on a cold night, the HEATED floors, high ceilings, turned down beds, and smiling welcome of Ruhaan dispelled all of those fears. He wanted us to share coffee and fruit with him right then, but we were tired and slept like logs. Then to learn that the Turkish breakfast included in our stay meant eggs made to order every morning with the coolest candied figs at breakfast that Ho do well with any of the fresh cheeses and bread. I’m so glad they had room for us, and we’re very responsive when I contacted them on WhatsApp to ask how to book when I had trouble (it’s SO HARD to book hotels in Turkey for a family of 6!), and to arrange a hotel shuttle for us coming in. Ruhaan knows the best places to eat and see, just a ten to fifteen minute walk to the town center, and all he wants to know is, “Are you happy?” And yes, SO HAPPY. "

"The hotel has a small number of rooms located on a hillside and partly in a cave. The grounds are decorated with local artifacts and knickknacks. It boast three terraces overlooking the picturesque Goreme valley. Room was nicely appointed and sparkling clean. The breakfast was exceptional with local produce and cuisine on offer. Staff were friendly and helpful and promptly met all of our requests including making siteseeing arrangements. The Manager on duty during our stay was a gentleman by the name Ozan and he was courteous and accommodating. This property is a hidden gem. "

"Taru Cave Suites made for such a memorable stay. Mr. Mehmet and especially his team have been nothing but kind and gentle, creating a truly welcoming space. The room carried a sense of antiquity — as you’d expect from a refurbished cave suite — but with simple, elegant touches that gave it real class. The bed struck the perfect balance of soft and firm, exactly what was needed after long days trekking the valleys. Breakfasts here were something special. On my second morning I practically leapt out of bed for my honeycomb — thick, dark pine honey with a resinous strength — paired with crisp potato pancakes. I’m not usually a cheese person, but I gave in and was rewarded with an assortment of dips that made the spread feel like a feast. The perfect start to the day."
