"Amazing stay - couldn’t recommend more. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful, the hotel is set in a beautiful location and the entire experience is flawless. The food is excellent as well, although it’s worth noting that both the dinner and breakfast are very generous meals - best not to eat too much beforehand! "Exceeded expectations. Was our most expensive stay on our trip in Japan, as we got the room with the meals included since very little dinner and breakfast options in the area. The food was some of the best we've had on our trip, and that's a pretty high bar. The staff were nice enough to have the shuttle take us to the bus depot in the afternoon while we waited on our room so we could go to the UNESCO village, since the parking there was full. We were going to walk the Google estimated distance of 45 minutes. We did walk back as was wonderful weather and my wife and I wanted to hit our step goal but was extremely thankful they were nice enough to drive us to the depot when they didn't have to. It's also the only stay we've had with a private onsen so my wife and I could go together, and it was amazing. The room was also such an amazing space to relax, really wish we'd had more time there. And the fact you can individually cool the separate main bedroom from the other room was awesome. Highly recommend and we'd definitely stay again if in the area."

"This was our first time at a ryokan. The staff and facilities ensure a tranquil and relaxing visit. When one first checks in the guest is treating like royalty with beautiful robe (I cannot remember the correct robe), tea, and an explanation of the facilities. The room was an apartment. Lovely views, The onsen in the room and the view of mountains was luxurious and calming. The chef is a master. Although I do not eat most of the dishes, the chef prepares dishes so that I could eat. The steamed seabream was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. There is a tea service available which is also quite nice. A short distance from the Onsen are trails through the mountains and around a lake."

It was the friendliest, warmest reception we've received. In fact, the entire staff was the pinnacle of good hospitality. From the front desk to the wait staff, everyone was amazing to interact with. Those who didn't speak English at all still made such an effort to answer our questions and help us. Everyone had a friendly, cheerful disposition - it genuinely felt like they were happy we were there and that they took pride in their amazing service. We loved the private baths, especially the outdoor open air one. The hot water was the perfect temperature and it left our skin feeling incredible. The lobby was great - it felt very cozy, warm, and welcoming. Like we were in our own home. The robot mascot was so much fun and we delighted in interacting with him and watching others (especially the children staying in the hotel, who seemed to find him magical) interacting with him.
