This Truro cottage is located on Corn HIll, the highest dune overlooking Cape Cod Bay, with a view of Provincetown across the water. It is part of a small cottage community built around 1900 to accommodate renters during the Victorian era. A famous painting by Edward Hopper features the cottages on the top the Hill, and photos of the cottages are commonly found on postcards and in local art.
A private beach is accessed by beach stairs. The two-story cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and futon trundle bed (converts to two twins), and another with two twin beds. For extra guests, the living room includes a sofa converting to a queen size futon. The full bathroom offers a corner shower. Stay connected with WiFi during your stay. The kitchen is very well equipped, providing both drip and espresso coffee makers, a wide array of utensils, and a huge range of spices for those who like to cook.
Each day on Corn Hill is punctuated with two main events: the sunset over the Bay every evening, and low tide, where one can explore the sea life and even dig up a few clams for dinner!
In addition to the private beach for the cottages, several ocean beaches (both National Seashore and Truro Town beaches) on the other side of the peninsula are within 2-5 miles. Provincetown is 6 miles away, where one can go on a whale watch, a sunset cruise on the "Bay Lady II" schooner, or a dune buggy tour of the Provincelands dunes; explore the history of the spot where the Pilgrims first landed; and enjoy the multitude of shops and restaurants along Commercial Street.
Numerous walking/hiking/biking trails are in the area, and one can visit (and climb if desired) the Highland lighthouse in Truro, or climb the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown for a magnificent view of the Cape.
In short, there is no end to the activities one can enjoy in the area!
The Corn Hill cottage community is family-friendly, and it is not uncommon for lasting friendships among kids playing around the cottages to be formed. As a result, many renters return year after year, so available rentals are scarce.
