The man who checked us in was lovely. Apart from a few cobwebs in the corner around the window, the room was pretty clean. Tea and coffee were provided, all clean towels and extra pillows were a bonus.
We weren’t given the Wi-Fi password for the hotel and we couldn’t get signal to use mobile data.
On the whole, quite a reasonable hotel for the price.

Great location for the harbour and marina.
Very little ventilation, fan would have been appreciated.
We were on first floor, very noisy from above and below, floorboards upstairs very squeaky. Because it was so hot with no ventilation had to have the windows open and could hear all the goings on from the other rooms.
Looks much nicer and attention to detail in the photos compared to actual paintwork etc. small sized towels, bigger would’ve been appreciated. Water and glasses in the rooms would’ve been nice also.
Very convenient place right on sea front basic and ideal for a short stay
Only down fall was that the floor could have done with cleaning (hair and surface dust) as nit carpeted
Was down for a festival over Saturday/Sunday. Was welcomed very warmly & treated very well. The staff were pleasant & friendly. My stay in my room was what I expected for such good rates. I just needed a place to sleep & my room was very adequate. Would definitely be suggesting this hotel to friends & family, should they need a good place to sleep whilst visiting the stunning seaside town of Torquay. Thank you.
I did not like that i had to ring bell to get into hotel at night was kept waiting for door to be opened should give front door keyys to residents along with room key
How bad can it be?! It's called Waters Edge Hotel, well its not near the waters edge, and if you're unfortunate enough to be allocated a room at the back of the hotel, your view is a white wall about six feet from the window. The carpet was filthy, the bathroom was very mouldy and grimey, the shower itself had mould and spmeone elses hair in it. There was no shower gel or shampoo any way. (not that we would have gone in). A plug socket din't work, the curtains were hanging off, so we couldn't draw them properly. The bed I'm sure had an old straw mattress, it was the worst bed I've ever slept on - well, I say slept!! Every floorboard in the hotel creaks, so you could not have slept for the noise of people just moving about anyway! The noise from the floor of the room upstairs was awesome. The flush on our toilet wouldn't stop.....Oh, and you cannot park properly. Torquays nice though!
No breakfast available,
I was looking for somewhere reasonably priced, which this was. It’s in a great location. You can walk into Torquay and Paignton easily, as it’s just up fro Corbyn’s Head.
The hotel is quite grand, with some nice gardens, but aside from a bar, offers on breakfast, lunch or dinner. So it has the feel of being underused.
The room I had was functional, but good bay for money. Ample parking, which is great. Checkout is 10 am. The manager was ever present and always helpful.
Nice room. Good value. Great location close to water.

Lovely position but a bit run down and no sound proofing meant we slept very little as people up stairs were moving around all night. Floor boards creaked badly.
