"What a surprise. This hotel is a 70s throwback in terms of feel, music, decor. We loved it and will certainly come back when next in Instanbul. Reception dude was ultra helpful and upgraded us. New room was 'prince' level. Marble everywhere, super king-size bed, TV within the dressing table. Plush and regal. All mod cons available. Sauna.. breakfast was usual turkish lavish offering. All great value and a true 5 star experience."

"The hotel is older and they are renovating some of the bathrooms. Ours was not one of them...however it was fine. The staff are extremely helpful and nice. The included breakfast was very good. However the restaurant was very expensive along with the bar menu. The hotel is situated on top of a high hill along a street that is reserved for pedestrians during the day. This prevents any taxis from gaining front door entrance - so we had to climb a high hill with our luggage - very exhausting. I wish the hotel had notified us of this in advance and we could have called them to have one of their electric cars pick us up. Access by taxi is available in the evening and early morning. Given the location, you are within a short walking distance to the Topkapi Palace and Cistern. All in all, the hotel served us well."

"Honestly I was a bit skeptical about staying after reading the reviews, but I’m glad I did stay. It gave our visit to Istanbul a unique vibe, the ottoman architecture, a classic and beautiful hotel. The staff are very nice, the breakfast is worth the money because of the variation, but honestly not necessary. And the location is where you want to be. The perfect central location for tourists planning to visit different sites. The food is good price around the hotel compared to Sultanahmet area. Highly recommended P.S. do not change money at the exchange office in front of the hotel, just walk two more minutes and get the best exchange rate."
