"The fact that as a guest paying around £200 a night (which is a lot of money for the general facilities of the hotel) and then you arrive to find that you also have to pay for parking at £10 per day is appalling, and leaves a really bitter taste in your mouth as soon as you have arrived at the property. Needless to say it really tinted our whole stay and I won’t be recommending the hotel to anyone. If you value your hard earned money, don’t stay here."

"OK, it was a little rough around the edges, but the room was spacious, there were plenty of towels, the shower was hot and it had a certain rustic charm both inside and out. Check in was relatively smooth for us [we had printed the booking confirmation], and breakfast was fine [we filled in a form at time of check-in to say what we wanted and at what time, so everything was already clear when we sat down in the breakfast room the next morning. The most important thing for us was that it was close to the Thames Path, and half way between Oxford and Goring, making it the perfect stop on a two day walk between those points. The pub just over the bridge - The Barley Mow - was excellent for dinner, and there's a village shop on the way to the pub selling everything you might need - also open quite early if you need to replenish your snacks and drinks for the next stage."
