Hotel Tammer is a classic old hotel that has been maintained and upgraded without losing its charm. The room was beautiful and clean. It had a great breakfast buffet. We had our dog with us and they accommodated him with a small hospitality kit (treats, poop bags and a loaner food bowl. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Classic Hotel in Tampere

Really beautiful hotel in the city center close to the river. I would have prefered a view on the river. A bit of strong smell from the toilet but nothing so dramatic. Staff very friendly and polite.

Great location - walk not even a block to the water, restaurants, tram, etc. No real parking options onsite unless you happen to get one of the maybe 6 spots out front which were always taken when I was there - but there is a big underground garage a few blocks away, just follow the signs. Building and rooms have a lot of charm and historic feel but have been updated in the right ways. Breakfast was amazing - loved the “wellness shot” of ginger!

Scandi gothic

The hotel was built in 1927 and the decor has not been changed since. It was clean and the linens were fresh and new. However the furniture in our bedroom looked as if it belonged in a £99 per night b&b. The bathroom had nowhere to rest wash bags, the walk in shower was fine but I have not seen an over the loo cistern with a pull chain in a very long time. The extraordinary dining hall, where breakfast was served was like walking in to a massive scandi gothic film set. Not for the faint hearted.

In this hotel, I felt like I was stepping back in time to almost a century ago. Yet, at the same time, it had modern conveniences - an updated bathroom, elevator, a sunroom and a restaurant downstairs with outdoor seating. The location could not have been better for a tourist like me and the staff was wonderful.
