The property is at a block of units inhabited by regular folk. Due to refurbishment of 3 apartments I was awoken at 7,8 or 9 am by drills, hammering and other construction noises for the first 2.5 weeks. I had jet lag and it was tough. The sounds of the baby below was delightful I just went back to sleep, her parents settled her quickly and not a worry. I don’t think the place was checked properly before I arrived, I couldn’t find towels and sheets easily but did eventually. The en-suite had a fused light fixture and the smaller bathroom looks like black mold at some tiles but both bathrooms had no windows . Avalon is a nice place so that sort of made up for it all. I like having on site laundry and the bed was comfortable. After I sorted out the internet I enjoyed you tube. Please check things before guests arrive.

Stair access was shown on the website as only one flight from the street entrance. From the carpark this would involve many more stairs - not made clear. There is an extra flight of stairs within the actual building not mentioned on the website.Heating was totally inadequate - two small Dysons for a large uncarpeted living space were not efficient at all and limited power points in the living room area only made it more difficult. The place gets no sun at all so even colder. Beds - linen was clean but beds poorly made - doona cover in one room had no fasteners. Spare doonas were not covered. Kitchen and laundry frig and microwave, stove, dishwasher etc were good but dinner ware really cheap and not matching. Bethrooms good - showers excellent. We left a night early as so cold - and we did have warm clothing with us. 3pm check in and 10am checkout made this a very pricey stay for basically less than 36 hours. Australia needs to do better qualitatively. Or - are landlords so cynical that attention to detail isn't that important.
