Older Hotel in Convenient Location

My third stay at this hotel. I keep returning because of the Sahid's convenient location next to Stasiun Gubeng (especially if you plan to take 7:00 am train to Malang). You can walk to the station in 3 minutes. The Sahid is also only a 5 minute walk to Plaza Surabaya, and only about 20 minutes walk from the busy city center of Tunjungan. However, the Sahid is 30 years old and shows its age. Budget tourists might be more satisfied with this hotel than business travelers. The staff do their best to keep guests happy, which means jumping over some hurdles. I give them an "A" for trying!

A Weak Hotel with a Strong Staff

There is a problem with people smoking throughout this hotel. The hotel was seemed fully booked during my stay. Large groups of locals congregated in the halls, smoking and talking. Also, the hotels.com website states that the Sahid has a fitness center, a claim that should be removed. The "fitness center" is a small and smelly room in the basement with a 30-year old broken stationary bicycle. This was all rather annoying. However, I must add that when I made a complaint, the hotel staff turned did their utmost to make me happy. My compliments to the staff for making my stay more pleasant! By the way, the location is excellent. Next door to Stasiun Gubeng. A 5-minute walk from Plaza Surabaya.

かつての4つ星ホテル

駅に近いが、通常の出口ではなく反対側の出口から出なければ最短で行けない。外観は立派なホテルに見えるが内装は修復されていなく、老朽化が目立つ。ただ部屋は広くて快適ではある。テレビの映り具合は大変良く、NHKも見られた。朝食はまずまずでレストランも広い。宿泊代が格安なので割り切れば我慢はできます。空港までのタクシー代は。120,000ルピアで所要時間は約1時間、高速道路はない。

Great location for a short stay

The location was very strategic, near Gubeng railway station, Surabaya Plaza and Grand City Mall. it took about 15 minutes walking to Tunjungan Plaza. We requested a non smoking room and avoided smoking rooms which were located at the fifth floor.

以前と比べて外壁を綺麗に塗装したようで、

さぞかし、部屋も綺麗になったと思いきや、以前と変わらず。 シャワーはお湯が出ない。洗面台の水は、最初黒い液体がしばらく出た。 コンセントは壁から剥がれ落ちて、電線でぶら下がっている。 怖くなってホテルから逃げ出しました。

駅に近い便利なホテル

　鉄道旅行のため、１日おいて２泊しました。1泊目の部屋は７階で、シャワーのみの部屋でしたが、改装されており、液晶テレビや新しい冷蔵庫でした。２泊目はバスタブ付の９階の部屋にアップグレードしてくれましたが、改装も設備も更新されておらず、テレビも旧式のもので、全体に古びた感じでした。お湯はよく出ました。 　立地は、駅に隣接し、庶民的なブラザ・スラバヤとやや高級なグランド・シティ・モールの２つのショッピングセンターも近くにあり、買い物や食事に便利でした。
