"Motel was clean throughout. Price was fair. Parking was good. Refreshment machines handy. Breakfast was pretty good with a number of choices. Roadway is a little noisy til about 2300. On a major street so easy to find"
"Excellent safe location with underground walking tunnel sto the Mayo Clinic and the surrounding blocks with restaurants and stores. No need to use surface streets in bad weather."
"I would pass on this place. Simple question of how much the security deposit is could not be answered by the front desk. Just wanted me to put my card in. It's nice to how much money is good to be held before hand"
Centerstone Plaza Hotel Soldiers Field - Mayo Clinic Area
2/10 Terrible
"This hotel feels very outdated and in serious need of renovation. I was initially assigned a studio room in a separate building behind the main hotel, and the room felt very old and had a strong unpleasant odor. The furniture was worn and outdated, the carpet looked like it needed a deep cleaning, and overall the room did not feel fresh or well maintained.
I requested a room change and moved to the main tower, which was somewhat better, but unfortunately there was still a noticeable smell in the room. The AC worked sporadically, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. The bed was not comfortable, and the pillows felt strange and lumpy.
To top it off, the breakfast was disappointing and below expectations. Overall, this stay did not feel worth the cost, and the property would benefit greatly from updates and renovation."
"Very affordable, pet friendly without making you broke with fees, clean pool and convenient location. The old-school key cards kept failing and we were locked out a lot, but we made it work. Very basic continental breakfast, but the price is right!"
Best Western Rochester Hotel Mayo Clinic Area/St. Mary's
2/10 Terrible
"Stayed one night and regretted it. The room was in poor condition from the moment we walked in, clearly not cleaned properly before our arrival. The bathtub was dirty and failed to drain properly, making it you stand in dirty bath/shower water. It felt like a cosmetic refresh had been done to mask deeper neglect rather than actually addressing the problems.
The pool situation was somehow worse. It was packed well beyond what felt safe or comfortable, and there were children running unsupervised throughout the area without a parent or guardian in sight. No staff stepped in to manage any of it.
Save your money and stay somewhere that actually maintains its property and takes basic guest experience seriously. Would not return."
