The Muddy Mermaid - Neptune's Grotto Old Florida Adventure Retreats

You won’t want to leave this charming, one of a kind place, playfully taking it’s name from the adjacent, scenic Mud Spring in Weeki Wachee! Relax and unwind in this efficiency style room at Neptune’s Grotto. Take a leisurely paddle with the provided kayaks and explore the natural Old Florida area and pristine waterways. Inside of the room you’ll find a queen bed, kitchenette, and a private bathroom with a shower. Enjoy the on site beach with your favorite beverage while watching the sunset.
The space
Efficiency style room in a vintage motel on the Mud River, overlooking the scenic Mud Spring!

Private room with a shared beach and use of kayaks.

Use of kayaks. Laundry on site.
Room is set up for 2 people but we can accommodate an extra child with the twin size air mattress provided in the room.

Serene spot

We will absolutely be coming back again. We love camping, but May in Florida means it’s too hot to sleep outside for us. Having a clean air conditioning room to sleep in, be comfortable bed and a cute little kitchen was so nice after spending the day kayaking,on the Weeki Wachee river. There is a couple with a small boy living on site and they were so friendly. During our stay, one of the kitchenchairs lost a screw and they helped me fix this in no time.

Kinda like paradise

A beautiful location right on the water with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the gorgeous view. The room was cozy and clean. Highlight was the kayaks freely available for exploring the river and seeing manatees close up!
