"Le Phenix is in a perfect location in Vieux Lyon -- easy walking distance to the Fourviere funicular, the Roman amphitheatre, and wonderful food all around the streets. I arrived around 9 PM -- the desk clerk attempted to charge me for my pre-paid room -- I had to show him the Expedia app showing my pre-payment. My room was clean but very small and a good thing I'm only 5 ft 6 in or I would have hit my head inside the room! The furnishings were basic. The bed had a distinct list to one side. The breakfast was good and the daytime desk clerks helpful with maps and directions."
