The Space:

A convenient downstairs WC completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, the first floor hosts a super king, a king, and a double bedroom, all sharing a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. On the second floor, you’ll find another king bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom with walk in shower just opposite.

The Neighborhood:
This lovely home in West Lydford, a village in the heart of rural Somerset, offers the perfect mix of peace and countryside beauty with easy access to some of the county’s most famous attractions. The village itself has a friendly feel, with lovely country walks available right from the doorstep, making it ideal for those who enjoy fresh air, rambling, and soaking in the tranquil landscapes of Somerset.
Just a short drive away is the mystical town of Glastonbury, with its iconic Tor, Abbey ruins, and quirky independent shops. This makes for a wonderful day out, whether you’re climbing for panoramic views, browsing the High Street’s eclectic mix of stores, or learning about the area’s fascinating history and legends. The famous Glastonbury Festival in Pilton is only 10-15 minutes drive away.
Nearby Wells, England’s smallest city, is equally rewarding to visit, boasting the magnificent Wells Cathedral and the atmospheric Bishop’s Palace with its moat and gardens. You'll also find excellent markets here.
For those who love the outdoors, Cheddar Gorge is within easy reach, offering dramatic scenery, caves to explore, and opportunities for climbing and hiking. The Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is also nearby, with excellent walking and cycling trails. Families will love a trip to Wookey Hole Caves, which combines underground adventure with family attractions.
Food and drink are another highlight of the region, with cosy country pubs and traditional cider farms dotted throughout the area. Closer to West Lydford, you’ll find welcoming village pubs serving hearty meals, and farm shops offering delicious local produce. For a wider choice, the nearby towns of Castle Cary and Somerton provide independent shops, markets, and eateries. High end destinations like The Newt (15 minutes) and Babbington House (30 minutes) are within easy reach. Similarly, many fine eateries can be found in Bruton, around 20 minutes away. Don't miss the famous Hauser & Wirth gallery here too!
Whether you’re seeking historic landmarks, outdoor adventures, or simply a peaceful rural escape, West Lydford is a wonderful base for discovering the best of Somerset and beyond.
Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of the property, we would recommend bringing a car for your stay. There is ample parking space for multiple vehicles on the driveway.
That said, the area is also wonderful for cycling and secure storage is available in the walled garden.
