"Thanks to the staff for making our short stay so pleasant. They were all courteous and professional. Thanks to Jamiah for arranging a new room due to a problem with the original sink. (also the restaurant recommendation and the extension cord) Jamiah’s notes meant we didn’t have to explain the situation again to the morning clerk, Lorna. She had the new room ready sooner than expected and delivered the new keys to us. The upgrade was a nice surprise! The Townhouse is well located close to China Town and the Manchester Art Gallery. "

"Stayed here for my birthday. The rooms are arty and dark, gorgeous interior. The front desk receptionist had 2 glasses of complimentary champagne sent to the room which was a lovely touch and I had a ‘happy 30th birthday’ plate in the room which was covered in fruit and chocolates. The only let down was the breakfast, for what you pay for it was minimal, wasn’t very hot and a very slow service. It wasn’t too busy so would have expected a faster service. "

"No refreshments in the room, no kettle, cups or glasses to even drink water, no ironing board and rooms nearby that suggested facilities to iron would not allow access with my key card. General decor and state of repair of 'house 2' I was put in was poor. Breakfast was edible but poor selection. Room wasn't cleaned at all during the day. Otherwise the bed seemed clean and staff weren't rude or unfriendly. Certainly fallen far since it was the Novotel"

"Stayed here for a city break and the location is genuinely excellent. Sitting in the heart of the Northern Quarter and Ancoats, you're surrounded by some of Manchester's best restaurants, bars and cafés. The Arndale shopping centre is a 10-minute walk, and a brisk 15 minutes walk will get you from/to Manchester Piccadilly station. The room was a decent size and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout — no complaints there. Buffet breakfast included in the stay had a good selection and was a solid start to the day. Staff were pleasant enough, though interactions felt professional rather than personal — not as warm and friendly as you might find at a smaller or boutique hotel. The reception area also got noticeably busy at peak check-in and check-out times."
