Reviewed October 25, 2026Roundtrip • Nagoya (NGO) - Hanamaki (HNA)NKM - HNA • Nonstop HNA - NKM • Nonstop￥90,520￥72,669found 19 hours agoper traveler - Livemax Resort Hachimantai Forest

Hachimantai6 nights3.0 star property8.2/10 - Very good (215 reviews)"A nice set-up for a ski-in/ski-out resort. My kids also had great lessons with an English instructor. Getting to Appi Kogen was also quite easy with the buses from Morioka Station. We were also bumped up to a larger room, which was very comfortable, especially by Japanese standards. That was also great. However….. The only drawback was the very limited food options, especially for dinner with young kids, who don’t eat very much anyway. We live in Japan, so we’re accustomed to Japanese portions,..."Reviewed February 28, 2026Roundtrip • Osaka (OSA) - Hanamaki (HNA)KIX - SDJ • Nonstop SDJ - KIX • Nonstop￥585,859￥506,350found 1 day agoper traveler - Hotel Shion

"Staff was super nice at this property. Service was top of the line. They even drove us up and down the road even though we could've walked. Food was delicious, elaborate, and made with superb craftsmanship. Room was so comfortable probably one of the most comfortable ryokans we have stayed at. Private open air bath was perfect with snowing outside!"

"My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. We weren't sure about having the Japanese cuisine for both breakfast and dinner but it was such a great experience. We are very glad we chose to add the half-board to our stay. The sound of the stream at night was lovely and also really enjoyed the onsen. We were originally hoping to have an in room onsen, but ended up enjoying the public onsen. It was a new experience and we would definitely do this again. The food is...
"Fantastic ryokan, located in a very quiet countryside area. Lots of nature and birds. Very peaceful. You will need a car to get to this ryokan. The road to the ryokan is narrow. Highly recommend! "
"This was an excellent onsen hotel (we've stayed in quite a few). The room we had (Japanese style room with open air bath) was spacious, even for a family of four and included a small garden area as well as the bath. The food was exceptional - and served by incredibly friendly and helpful staff who our daughters loved engaging with. There were toys for the children that could be taken to the room and they also enjoyed watching the goldfish that swim in the indoor 'river' in the reception area....
"駐車場の発見機が雨で誤動作して使えなかった 以外は問題なく、快適に過ごせました"
