Hideaway at Cannery Point 'True Puget Sound Waterfront'
This beautiful hidden newer home is only 25 feet from the bulkhead on a private cove on Puget Sound. Gorgeous views from every Window! Wildlife abounds! Seals, Eagles, Deer, Otter, Mink, Fish jumping, the rare sighting of a whale! This gorgeous and very private setting is perfect for kayaking, beach combing, and hiking, lots of clams, starfish, sea urchins, and crabs at low tide! A fire pit sits just yards from the water for campfires or cookouts! Hideaway is only 18 miles north of Olympia and 7 miles from Shelton, near Arcadia Point. Did we mention how peaceful it is. Undeveloped properties surround the Hideaway, only a few homes are on no bank waterfront for miles. It is perfect for family weekends, Girl Friend Getaways, or anyone that wants to feel that they are truly away from it all. Property is over 12 acres of tall cedar and maples with over 1200' of waterfront, year round creek and high tide boat launch. Beach Combing the tidelands at low tide is a must.
Stainless Kitchen, with large breakfast bar: Large kitchen with lots of bar top space to sit and watch the cook. Hideaway has an open floor plan with the family room right off the kitchen.
Back to nature: The sun room is the spot to hang out. With it's eight large windows and sliding door to the deck, you can't help but sit and watch all the wild life before you. That Seal that is wondering who you are is Sammy. I don't know when he sleeps because he spends his day patrolling the waters in front of the house. Then at night you can hear him slapping the water in the cove. A couple of times a week at 8:30 AM a doe and her fawns walk by between the deck and the water. Depending on the season (Fall) the salmon come back to spawn in the creeks and rivers. The jumping salmon really make you wish you had bought that fishing license.
The drive down to Hideaway: Hideaway gets its name from where it's located. Coming from Olympia you take Lynch Road off the 101, a nice country 8 mile drive. From Shelton you take Arcadia Road for 7 miles . Then you turn onto a long private driveway. The canopy of maples and cedar let you know right away that this isn't a regular rental. The driveway starts off flat then points down all the way to the no bank waterfront. When beach combing you won't find many homes and those you do are off the waterfront, so you will most likely have the beach to yourself.

Hideaway - Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature
My family really loved the place. This is a different experience from our traditional vacation places. We enjoyed watching Sammy the seal, canoeing and oyster picking. Looking forward to be back again.
Bill’s place is a wonderful place for kids and adults alike. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our boy wasn’t able to catch any fish but there were plenty of other activities that he and his sister enjoyed on at the place.
Our family had the pleasure of staying at this property for eight days. We kayaked, steamed oysters and clams at the fire pit, viewed wildlife, and just explored the property. No one wanted to go anywhere once we arrived. We had it all right there. I hope we can return some day.
My only regret is not booking more time and staying at the property the whole day. Best vacation ive taken. I Proposed to my now fiance on the property while having our families meet for the first time. Everyone had a blast with the property being right on the water with all the little creatures and kayaking. The house itself was clean and well kept and exceeded my expectations. Definitely going to come back. Thanks Bill for sharing your piece of paradise.
My wife and I were looking to unplug from kids and life for a few days. We stayed at Bill and Janettes’s Hideaway for 4 nights and got exactly what we needed. This place is incredible! It was secluded, quiet and clean. The photos simply can’t do the experience justice. The wildlife is plentiful to watch on land, in the air and water. We explored the property along the shoreline and never saw anyone else besides the handful of boats passing by. Bill and Janette were extremely kind and respected our privacy. I can’t recommend this property enough. We’ll definitely be back to this little slice of heaven on earth.
We've rented this house on the water multiple times and it is always a place for blissful relaxation. We love it so much we bring enough food for the entire time and never leave. It is so quiet except for the occasional barge or boat that we enjoy watching. We like watching the geese and seals having fun in the water or the blue heron swooping down to catch fish. There were also 3 deer families that came through the beach. The house is spacious with lots of sleeping arrangements and air conditioning. For the more adventuresome there are kayak/canoes and hiking trails. We did lots of beach walking when it was low tide. We enjoyed playing games at the large table and watching the tide go in and out or the wildlife. There is a fire pit and gas BBQ and lots of picnic table space.
This was a wonderful house right on the water with amazing views. It is very secluded and allows you to relax and just enjoy the nature around you. There were seals cruising by, a little deer that came to check us out at dinner and amazing water views. Home has everything we needed for a pleasant stay.
Cozy house, with everything you need for a PNW beach getaway! Tons of private beachfront with clams, crabs, seastars and seals to discover! Acres of rainforest and trails, a creek, fire-pit, and a working shellfish farm next door. Fun and relaxing place for the whole family!
What a wonderful location to spend time with our nieces and husband from Olympia and our niece and her children from out of town. Seeing all the wildlife was amazing. The home itself is even nicer than the photos. It was quite convenient .
We loved the Hideaway! I wish we could have just stayed longer and had more time to watch the wildlife around this property. My husband woke up early one morning and watched an eagle score its breakfast and I watched the seal a couple of times but I could have done that all day! I would highly recommend this rental and would book again and again! It’s clean and comfortable too!!Also, know that the photos on VRBO do not do this place justice.
We had a very enjoyable week with family. Wonderful being able into get all of the oysters & clams right in front of us. The most exciting day of our trip was when 3 Orcas gave us a wonderful show right in front of us. Also enjoyed the seals!
The home had everything that we needed. Enjoyed being able to be on the water.
Love that it was so private and quiet. Great views. My 7 year old nephew saw lots of seals and loved exploring. He didnt use his ipad at all. Loved disconnecting from devices and spending family time together. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back.
The property is gorgeous. So close to the water and feels so secluded. We were thrilled to see Sammy the seal. A momma Dear with babies. A Red Cascade Fox that are on Washington’s endangered list. Sea otters and Canana Geese in the yard.My daughter in law saw an eagle or osprey fly down and scoop a fish. Sight of the gravel barge was a real treat as well. Beautiful place and we had a wonderful time together.
