Enjoyed 4 day stay in the Akrotiri renovated cave room because we like being in castle ruins and on the quieter part of the island. However, after 3 flights and getting a rental car, we got to the area and spent a good hour trying to find the place as we never received the email 3 days prior with directions and the code. Had to ask Thera Dolphin Hotel for help to contact owner as there is no reception, just a lock box with code and key inside. Challenging to find street parking in the narrow alley when you have a rental car. Definitely street noise especially motorbikes.
Room was very nice and modern. Reno and decor were charming. Good lighting and plenty of plugins. Solid wi-fi. Did not watch TV.
Bathroom was amazing but there were some plumbing smells in bathroom from floor drain. Close the bathroom window when using the toilet or shower as window is easy to look into from street. Shower was spacious with waterfall head and hand sprayer... much more shower room than other cave rooms I researched.
Quality of towels and sheets and mattress were good. Housekeeping did give us fresh towels 2x and sheets 1x and cleared trash.
Wish there was an induction plate or microwave in the kitchenette but they do have a fridge, toaster, a water heater kettle, and Nespresso machine. We broke a wine glass and was charged $18 USD and it would have been nice to have an itemized bill for that.
