About this property
Escape to Serenity: Lookout Tower with Hot Tub, near Schweitzer and Dog-Friendly
Escape to a breathtaking mountain retreat for remote getaways or romantic nights in! This stunning lookout tower, inspired by National Park architecture, sits atop a granite cliff over 60 feet high, offering unparalleled views of the Cabinet Mountains, Sandpoint, and Lake Pend Oreille. Tucked away off the main cutoff to Schweitzer Mountain, this awe-inspiring structure is a must-see for anyone seeking a one-of-a-kind experience.
This cozy space offers remote relaxation while still providing all the amenities your heart desires. The Lookout Tower is 2 stories so guests must be able to use a spiral staircase or exterior wood stairs.
The Main living and dining area is located upstairs while the bedroom, bathroom complete with blackout curtains and laundry facilities are located downstairs. The walkthrough below is as if you’re entering through the front door and exiting through the second floor sliding glass door.
Did we mention adventure? Due to the steep driveway, we recommend a 4x4 or AWD in order to reach the lookout tower even with the freshly paved driveway as the main road is still gravel. You may park at the lower driveway and hike up to the home (2 minute walk) if it looks too daunting - This may also be required in the winter months depending on the snow conditions. We promise it is all worth it once you take in the views! Especially sitting in the hot tub that overlooks the valley.
The city of Sandpoint is known for trains, so you'll hear the train whistle from the valley below. You'll be surprised how quickly you become accustomed to the sound but if you're not used to it you can use the "white noise" player or earplugs in the bedroom to muffle the train whistles at night.
Dog Policy: We love welcoming well-behaved dogs and are happy to offer a pet-friendly home for your stay! There is a $75 dog fee.
To help keep our home comfortable and enjoyable for all guests, we kindly ask that you follow a few simple guidelines: - Please keep dogs off all furniture, including couches, chairs, and especially beds. - Clean up after your dog both inside and outside the property, including disposing of all pet waste promptly. - Please do not leave your dog unattended in the home unless they are comfortably kenneled. - Dogs must be supervised at all times due to the wildlife and cliffs around the property. - If your dog comes inside wet or muddy, please dry them before allowing them indoors. BRINGING DOGS WILL BE AT THE OWENER'S RISK.
Unfortunately, this property was not designed for children. There is a tight spiral staircase inside the home and not a lot of room to play.

We loved this place and will definitely be back! Beautiful, relaxing and an amazing review. Lots of thoughtful amenities that made our stay even more wonderful. Thank you.
This place was awesome. Exactly as described. The perfect place to escape for a couple days. My favorite things were: hot tubbing under the stars and the three-head shower! The house is well stocked with anything you might need, from kitchen appliances to board games and books. We also enjoyed exploring the property, which has a stream. The host was also communicative and friendly. We hope to return in the future.
Property was super clean and had everything that we needed to be able to enjoy our stay. Perfect location to get to town or Schweitzer, but also tucked in the trees so you felt like you were away from it all.
The property was very clean and organized. Everything worked as it should and there was a list of good restaurants in the area. We had a blast on our honeymoon and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
We had a few small issues with the property but they were quick to be resolved and the property was truly incredible. Great location between the mountain and town. If we go back to Sandpoint we have accommodations covered.
Very clean and organized. Owner provides high end products and furnishings and it’s equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Great views and ambiance. Will definitely book again!
We just needed a place to get away and unwind, and this was perfect! The views were amazing, the hot tub on the deck was awesome, and it was stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable and relax. We would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to explore Sandpoint/Schweitzer, but also just as a place to get away the hustle and bustle of life.
Right when I walked in I could tell the thought and care that had been put into this property. It was spotless and had everything we needed! It was the perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary. The views were incredible and the hot tub was the extra icing on the cake.
This Firetower is everything that it’s made out to be on the website, and then some! Absolutely AMAZING views of Lake Pend Oreille and the surrounding mountains. The only downside is loud train traffic at the base of the hill, but otherwise very peaceful; a great rental to be sure! : )
My partner and our dog stayed in this cozy little lookout. The property was surprisingly big and remote, driving up to the unit was such a surreal experience, the living space was very cozy, the kitchen had very modern appliances, the bathroom was very nice and the shower was pretty insane, the deck that surrounded the exterior overlooked the incredibly beautiful views of the mountains off in the distance which provided us an amazing sunrise, and the hot tub was very warm. We'll defiantly make our way back to this property in the future.
This properly is truly such a gem! I love staying in unique places, but it is rare to find somewhere that merges unique characteristics with high quality design, finishes and appliances - but this place is just that! It is close to Schweitzer, Sandpoint and anywhere you want to go if you want to get out and explore, but also incredibly cozy if you want to relax and stay in to soak up the stunning views. The hot tub was the cherry on top. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!
Everything as advertised at the Lookout Tower. It was a very comfortable and cozy little cabin. The hot tub is perfect for two adults — I wouldn’t go for three or it would be a snug fit. We thought the bed was extremely comfortable.
Water pressure was a little low but it gets the job done for showers!
Everything was very clean and the WiFi was good for us. Nice mini appliances too and gas range. Definitely a nicer cabin kitchen!
The wood stove/fireplace was a nice touch we used too.
The Lookout Tower was a fantastic place for us to stay and celebrate our elopement. The property has a beautiful view, a great ambiance, and was well stocked and clean. Sam even helped with delivering surprise gifts and hand wrote us a card to make our stay extra special.
