The party of 3 was very impressed with this property. 3 beautiful bedrooms, beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, you can walk to Gruene ( bit of a steep hill, but beautiful river crossing) Gruene has wonderful restaurants, music, the famous Gruene Hall ( oldest dance hall in Texas). "Overall just okay. Needs updating. Pool had been closed for an entire month by the local health department but owner said they were not aware. Outlet in master bathroom does not work. Had to message the owner multiple times just to gain entry to the unit at the agreed upon time. Codes provided did not work and only way to communicate was through VRBO messaging. "We really enjoyed staying here. The historical building had a lot of character. The property has a very convenient location to many sightseeing opportunities. We visited to view the eclipse and this place was close enough to the Hill Country for a reasonable drive. It is a college town so there are lots of eating places. "I was extremely disappointed with the misleading posting about the facilities, lack of reply from the host, and attempted theft of security deposit. The host does not leave the key and fob so you cannot park at the complex or use the gym. During check-in I contacted the host and let them know the key and fob were not there. They did not reply at all, even after trying to contact them about 10 times. Aside from not being able to use several areas of the complex that were listed, the pictures...

"It was a cute little cottage. We didn't think it was cleaned...and having little ones, its important. We pulled the futon out and were surprised by all the crumbs that were in the crease. Also the fans were full of dust and a lounge chair was tore. Instructions were out dated..or not for that cottage. They instructed to leave dishes in dishwasher but theres no dishwasher. Instructions did say there was a quiet time and having to wear wrist bands, and one parking spot per rental. We saw more...

"So much space! The place was immaculate and a darling outside area. The hosts are super nice and very helpful. We had a power outage due to a storm and they came and lit candles for us and provided a lantern to help us see until the power returned. I would definitely stay here again."
