The good: The owners (the coopers) are very responsive and caring to making sure your stay is as promised. It is a good location for those who do not party and want a private pool. We enjoyed the suite very much. The hill from downtown is steep but manageable. The bad: Gabriel the host- he was not there when we checked in. The pool was very low and dirty and needed water. He said he would get it and didnt retun for over 10 hours. He looked at my messages and never responded. We had to email the owners to get him to respond and handle it. The ugly: Gabriel told the guests above us they could access our area to get to their pool when the listing states we only share our space with the guests in our suite. This caused tension with the others when we asked them to stop. I then called gabriel and he replied it wasnt his problem and hungup on me. I was then forced to call the owners and bother them. They handled it promptly and effectively. If it wasnt for the owners, our stay would have been ruined This is a great place to stay, but if the onsite host isnt responding to your concerns, you will likely need to contact the owners to get resolution. Other than that, wonderful space! And dont forget to feed the orange cat :)

The Cooper house and the Casita Romantica is everything as edvertised. My wife and 8 year old son truly enjoyed the great views, local shopping and amazing food just 5 minutes away from the house. I like to give a special recognition to Gabriel Zamora, the property manager for being on top of things during our stay. He made sure our pool clean and the the house keepers did a great job daily of our rooms and living areas.

Best in San Juan

We have been coming to San Juan del Sur for 10 years. The Casa Romántica at Casa Cooper was far and away the best place we have stayed. Wonderful views, great kitchen, outdoor space with dining area, lounge chairs, and small private pool. Definitely 5 Star! We definitely plan to return next year and will look no further than “Casa Cooper”.

We stayed at Casa Cooper for our wedding night. Elisha, the property manager, was wonderful. She helped me to plan a surprise for my husband and made our night extra special. The place is spotless and conveniently located.

Beautiful location for romantic anniversary!

As a 30th anniversary getaway, Casita Romanitica was perfect. The bedroom and 2 bathrooms are very spacious and the unit is well equipped. We brought 12 bottles of wine (max allowed by customs) and put it all to good use. The private pool was perfect for us to spend a day doing nothing. Exploring the town was fun - unique shops, loved Simon Says for lunch, bought fresh bread, fruit, and veggies at the Mercado, and fresh fish (filleted as we watched) from the docks, and barbecued most nights on the Romantica deck while enjoying the spectacular sunsets. We took a class at the Choco school in town making our own chocolate –definitely a fun activity, and learned a lot about my favorite food. Yes, it is rainy season, but the views from the house of mountains and valley are amazing with a million shades of green. A hurricane hit the east coast the last few days of our adventure, but after dealing with Irma in Florida, this was easy. The clay packed roads got extremely muddy and we learned it is imperative to have a 4-wheel drive. Most of the main roads are paved, but getting into the mountains was a feat. We tried driving north on the Chocolate Highway, but gave up after 30 minutes. Everywhere we went, the Nicas are wonderful people. Even though we don’t speak Spanish they would always go out of their way to help and we felt very welcome in their country. Gabriel, the Cooper caretaker met us when we pulled in, and was on site every day to answer any questions. He even gave us a tour of the other Cooper units that were empty at the time and it is obvious Casa Cooper is highly maintained. The rest of the Pelican Eyes campus is sprawling and we took advantage of double massages at the spa and a very romantic dinner at the main restaurant overlooking the pool and ocean. Casita Romantica exceeded expectations and we highly recommend it!

Awesome!

Great location, close to town but not too close. Perfectly named Casita Romantica as it is a great spot for a couple! Beautiful place with amazing views! Some construction going on around and in the resort but nothing too disturbing or distracting. The pool is great as are the pools in the resort. We were the only ones in Casa De Cooper so it was nice and private. George was great with his communication and information prior to arrival. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful home & excellent staff

My husband and I stayed at Casa Romantica for 5 nights and we loved it. The view and the sunsets are amazing! We were walking distant to San Juan Del Sur and if we didn't feel like walking it was easy to get a taxi or have the resort pick us up for a small fee. The house was in excellent condition and kept very clean. We had everything we needed during our stay. We were hoping to stay again on our next visit in November but it is already book. Our loss. We will definetly stay here again. Thank you to the Cooper family for sharing their beautiful home with us. Eddie & Denise

10 stars if I could rate it that way!!!!!!

This is the second year staying at the Casita Romantica. Let me tell you there is no mistake this is heaven on earth. Everything you see in the pictures is that and then some. But to make things even more spectacular the quality of service you get from George and his constituents ia BAR NONE!!! We used the car service George provides from the airport to SJDS and back to Masaya and even that was outstanding. Quality cars great A/C and If you use them as for Evertz as your driver! As you can see I can't say enough great things about this place! Do not pass go... If you are in the fence this is your house! Liz Giddings - Florida

More than wonderful

Where can I start to express how perfect Casita Romantica was. The pictures don't lie; it is heaven on earth. Everything about the place is perfect. The patio with the pool and a great view is just unbelievable. We started everyday there and even if we had stayed in Casita Romantica and its pool the whole week, our vacaction would have been perfect. We did go to beaches and the town, but the true core of the vacation... We spend it the perfect private pool. The pool and so many other things are being taken care of by Gabriel, who works as groundkeeper. He is so nice and welcoming and helpful, always happy to help or answer a question. The same goes for Estella who works as a housekeeper. Always nice and polite. Plus, George and Sandra the owners were always super quick to answer any interrogative e-mail I sent them. I didn't get to meet them, but they were always helpful and nice and... Yes I only have positive things to say about the whole experience. I would recommend this place to everyone; From my best friend to my mom, everybody willl LOVE this place. 10 mins walk to town and the beach ; perfect location. Wonderful view, it is worth the little walk uphill everyday. We always walked up instead of taking taxis, because the walk isnt this long and the pool once you arrive is the best thing in the world. I could go on saying positive things about la Casita, but you get the point. Everybody needs to go there.
