Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This was mine and my boyfriend’s first time staying at an all inclusive, and it was such a hit! The moment we arrived we were taken care of and everything was so smooth.
Some highlights:
- The room was large and the bed was very comfortable, and had a stocked mini fridge. Hot running shower and room service was good and fast.
- staff were unbelievably helpful and so attentive everywhere on the property, especially at the many restaurants!
- food: most of the food was delicious, our favorites were the Italian and Asian restaurants. Don’t listen to the haters on the food, we really were fed well!
- no gimmicks: they didn’t really try to sell us on their memberships, and whilst there is premium tequila for optional purchase, I felt the alcohol at the included level was really good still. No need for premium purchases.
- entertainment: whilst we personally didn’t need entertainment, they had some DJs play house music at the adults side and also had really good DJs at their on site club. They also threw a kickass World Cup feast and watch party for the Mexican team. They even gave us a bottle of Don Julio!
Overall, we hope to be back here. We had such a nice time and we’re so happy with our stay!"
"Hotel Riu Vallarta was lovely. We especially enjoyed having the beach so close, as well as all the buffets :) we really took advantage of both. The evening events were really enjoyable and family friendly. We really appreciated that as well. The service at the buffet was impecable. They really make you feel like a VIP. The bar where most people were heavily indulging in alcohol was well hidden from the family friendly areas. The events staff really did a good job of keeping the vibes high.
My wife did hurt her knee pretty bad, I inquired about crutches, was told they’d get back to me, and they didn’t until two days later, and had forgotten that I asked for crutches in the first place. We also asked for plastic bags so she could ice her knee. We got some day 1 but then magically on day 2 the entire resort ‘didn’t do plastic bags.’ This was all pretty frustrating and unfortunate.
ALSO! If you have a promotion for free credit, it’s not what you think. We got $500USD in credit, and we’re planning to use it in the spa. But the credit can only be used to apply a very small discount to resort services such as photographs, snorkelling, and of course the spa. For example the spa treatment my wife and I wanted was $298USD I believe, and we could only use $15USD of the credit towards it. So to use all of the $500 of credit, theoretically, we’d have to spend thousands of dollars. It just doesn’t seem worth having a credit system at all."
"AMAZING STAFF, always so helpful. 1 thing i wish they had was somewhere to hang clothing..... I stayed for 9 days and didnt want to pay for laundry...."
"Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. The staff was amazing and the service was 2nd to none. The food came out fast, the the property was very clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again"
