We just got back from our family vacation at Casa Lumenez. Overall, our stay was great. The villa is a short few min from Samara beach and town, which includes restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, etc. Very convenient location! Its situated on a beautiful and lush property with endless vegetation. The views of the ocean are breath taking. We saw lots of wildlife, such as parrots flying back and forth above us every day. The villa itself had an indoor/outdoor vibe and only the bedrooms, washrooms and kitchen are enclosed. All common spaces to eat and hang out are outside, which is very unique. The villa is definitely dated, but kept in good condition with some TLC needed in areas of wear and tear. We didn’t mind, it was warm and charming, but if you’re one of those people that expects perfection then certain things will annoy you. I would say the only negative for us were the beds. The mattresses seem cheap/old and are hard like a rock - I don’t think a single person woke up without an achy back throughout the trip. For the price we paid we were expecting to sleep on comfortable beds. Our contact at the property, Johnny, was wonderful and very responsive, and his sister who was the housekeeper was also very lovely. They came often to change towels, clean the pool, manage the overall property, and they were quiet as mice and we barely noticed them. The property manager Maria was also great to deal with - extremely responsive, provided lots of useful information, and made the overall process easy peasy. We rented two cars and we’re sure glad we did! We were traveling with kids and the hike to and from the beach and town would have been challenging since the villa is at the top of a hill. Overall we had a great time at Casa Lumenez and we’re very sad to leave Samara.
